You also HAVE to understand something though. When you signed up for service you were given our Worry Free Guarantee, which outlines many aspects of how we will provide service to you, our customer. In that, you can move up and down within your current calling plan (without extending your contract) or you can always take a new promo and we will backdate it to your CURRENT bill cycle date. Not the $500 bill you already HAVE. We give you this information when you sign up for service for a reason. To READ IT. If you chose not to take the time to read the many many various options we give you, that isn't our fault, and we tend to compromise less. Of course, if the error is our fault we will 100% correct it. But you, the consumer have SO many opt...

nice post peaches, agree with you on every point. seeing as our customers are among the dumbest people to walk gods green earth tho, they will never think "is this logical".

just the other day this lady comes in with her son and says the phone wont turn on, i take off the battery, liquid drips out. inform the kid that his phone has been exposed to liquid and his mom flips out saying her son never got the phone wet, show her the liquid dropping from phone her response was "i dont know how that got in there but my son has never got the phone wet, if he did i would know". you know he never got the phone wet? cuz u were with him every second of every day when he used the phone? stupid b***h.

i understand that customers can be diffcult and expect too much, but talking like that about them represents us poorly. i think the same things, but in the spirit of integrity and professionalism, i keep them to myself.

You should have handed her the broken phone back and advised her that it was the only free phone she would be leaving with.

People try to get me to mail them FRU phones all the time. They get all upset that they have to go into a store to have a person look at it. "It's obviously a defect in how it was made!" they say. "Then it will be quick for them to decide to replace it when you take it into a store," they get in reply. One person said the "screen fell out" and wanted to know why I couldn't just mail her a phone... "Too many phones were being replaced that weren't covered by the warranty," she was kind of quiet after that.

I bow to your powers. That was a great post. If only we could read off something like that to customers while they are waiting on hold ot speak with us about things they would have known if they'd read the information given to them.

Hell yes, you know the only reason that we have to read that is because people are too lazy to read the contract before they sign it. Grab a copy of the customer agreement and read it, it sounds a LOT like the CCD spiel. But even though we READ IT TO THEM, they will still be like I wasnt advised, or they will use an excuse like oh i wasn't listening. Even though we get their SIGNATURES at retail, they still claim that they weren't advised, they always fall back on that excuse. Either that one or I didnt read it. But yet they want credit. go figure.

You go peaches! How right you are. People are signing legal documents and what a novel idea...read them first!
