Just switched from Cingular to Verizon...have some questions...
I got the 900 minutes/month(unlimited nights and weekend). Does using the phone during nights and weekend count toward my 900 minutes or are they really free without strings attached?
I am a bit used to not keeping track of my minutes since the minutes roll-over every month. 😛
How is the reception of Verizon Wireless vs Cingular? I did not get a good reception of my cingular phone when I am in my room talking and I had to come out to living room to talk. Do you think Verizon reception would be better(I am in los angeles area)?
Thanks for your response.
Should be better, no way to tell until you get the phone... LA is big...
BTW..I am looking foward to not having leave the comfort of my room(to the living room) when I am talking on the cell. I am crossing my fingers that I made the right switch...

Since AT$T and Cingular merged, wouldn't the coverage of "new" Cingular be greater than Verizon? also...has anyone been with Verizon more than 2 years? If so what made you to stick with Verizon?

The coverage in LA with VZW should be better than Cingular. This is due to the roaming agreements that Cingular/ATT lost when they merged. They no longer have use of the T-Mobile towers in the west, so their (Cingular) western coverage has suffered greatly.
I have no experience in LA, but I can tell you that this ...

I've been with Verizon 6 years now. I tried going to Sprint and Cingular on a second phone line in my family, but never liked the call quality, and had problems with service when traveling. You should find better coverage with Verizon.
Customer service via phone is very good, both via phone and via email.

Nights and weekend minutes, and IN minutes to other Verizon cell phones never count toward the 900 peak minutes.
just make sure you are "on-network" or your "IN" calls don't mean jack. - something you don't have to worry about with Cingular. 😉

This is true. I've never once, not one time, seen in-network calling minutes not show up as in-network on a bill (unless there's an obvious billing issue which is a different issue). Of course, it may happen, and has just never been pointed out or noticed.
