BETTER PLAN OPTIONS FOR EXISTING CUSTOMERS?

I have been a Verizon customer for 4 years. My contract is just about over and I was wondering if there was anyway to get additional minutes with a new contract? I currently have the 450 plan but I want more minutes. I don't need 900 because thats an overkill but can't Verizon reps add like 100 minutes every month to make a 550 min plan? Is this even possible? One rep said yes and showed me where it would be done on the computer. Another had no clue. Anyone?

Mins CAN be added, but usually only for a few months and typically only to make up for an error on our part, or if we feel sorry for you. You will not be able to call into Cust Care and order these mins. The 450 and the 900 min plans are the most current offerings. Don't get me wrong, I wish there were something in between, but there ain't, and there's nothing you can really do about it besides leave, or get on a family share plan where you would share 500, 1000, 1500, 2500 etc. mins between 2-5 lines.

Watch out when changing plans. The post-February 2005 America's Choice (AC2) plans no longer permit roaming in certain areas. If I had changed my plan I would not have been able to roam in (parts of) Yellowstone Park, as I WAS able to do a couple of weeks ago.

Check Verizon's maps online. If an area show up colored white, the AC2 plan will leave you without ANY signal, even as the AC2 plan continues to allow you to use your phone (in parts of those white areas).

Yah, it definitely sucks to be in minutes 'no man's land'. ☚ī¸

I thought it was hella dumb that they did away with the $49.99 step in their national plans a few months ago, but I guess the additional revenue to be gotten by getting ppl who need say 600 minutes to move up to the $59.99 level was too good to pass up. What's worse is that other companies have followed suit, such as Cingular on its national plans.

One solution is to go with a Local plan if you can, as they still have the $49.99 step in a lot of...

OK, lets break down the numbers. 450 min costs $39.99 and the 900 min is $59.99 a difference of $20 right? So if you were in the 450 and went over by 45 mins it would cost you $20. So it was not cost affective to have a plan in-between the two. Most users were below 450 or greater than 900. Besides its just $20. The average consumers spends that on coffee, soft drinks, beer, whatever your vice is per week.

Aaaaaand.... that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. đŸ˜ŗ

Seriously, what do overages have to do with the fact that VZW did away with the $49.99 step in national plans? It doesn't cost VZW 45 cents a minute to provide service, if it did they'd be out of business now. Overages are ...

Ah but I shall shout out ROLLOVER!!! 😁

With Cingy you can get the $59.99 plan with 900 rollover.

If you say use only 500 mins per month consitintly (sp) then you are rollingover 400 mins per month.

3 months at $59.99 lvl gets you 1200 rollover mins.

You can then switch to the Nation 450 w/rollover for $39.99 without contract extention since within the first 1/2 of the contract

Now cust still using 500 mins means that they are going over by 50 mins per month. That means with 1200 mins already saved up you can stay on the $39.99 plan for 24 months (or just 21 months which would be end of 2yr contract) without paying anything extra

So you pay an extra $10 for 3 months and end up saving $10 for 21-24 months. I'd say...

Could be wrong, but I thought rollover minutes expired after 12 months? I'm sure someone like Ruff will correct me if I'm in error here.

In any case, said fix would only last about 12 months anyway, since the guy in question was asking about going 100 minutes over per month.

Still, its a nice way to gyp Cingy out of some ARPU, so I can't really see the harm. 🙂

your right.... Forgot about that. They do expire.

OK 100 mins going over. 550 mins used each month...

3 months at $59.99 and then 12 months at $39.99 Repeat as needed 😉

Still an over all savings of $90 over 15 month period. Better deal than the $49.99 plan.

But if you keep doing it you'd alway be under contract. Not a bad thing if you like Cingular 😁

But thats possible to do now. Who knows if Cingular will change policy down the road 😕 😕
