New Sprint Plans advertising.. More Coverage?

Whats the story with the new Sprint commericals saying more coverage than any other carrier, I think we all agree it is a load of bull but I just wanted to know their claim and what they mean, I know VZW has the most coverage followed by Cingular but if I was a regular customer I would think that Sprint would have more coverage with no roaming charges than any other carrier, what is the true catch? Thanks

Sprint, with all of its roaming agreements, does in fact have more coverage than any other carrier. They have an incredibly tiny native network, especially when compared to Verizon's and Cingular's, but Sprint customers get service in more places than anybody else.

I know it seems like a bullsh!t claim but that's the way things work. Sad, I know. ☹️

But at least you'll feel good knowing that they can't touch Verizon's or Cingular's call quality or signal strength.

Sprints claim includes it's analog service, which is barely usuable. Sprint may indeed have the largest coverage without roaming charges, but, unfortunately, it's own network service sounds terrible.

Well, VZW area claims analog too, its just almost impossible to me that Sprint can claim more coverage than VZW AND Cingular, I agree whole heartedly that Sprint clarity is junk and there is really no comparison of the three comapnies, VZW and Cingy are heads and tails above the competition, HOWEVER by advertising alone Sprint and Cingy look better the the leahman than VZW

Don't believe everything you see on TV. T-Mobile says almost the same thing.

Anybody have any idea how many customers T-Mobile has? I was thinking it was only about 7 mil or so.

They should change their name to Highway Wireless. Once you go more than 5 miles off of any highway your reception sucks. If you don't believe me just look at their nationwide coverage map and compare it to anyone elses.

🤣 I think Sprint is a joke. Just look at they're "largest" coverage! Only the DARK green is PCS. Everything else is roaming.

Per Verizon and Sprint's websites, here's the amount of people they claim to cover:

Sprint--including digital roaming: 287 Million
Sprint--incl dig and analog roaming: 293 Mill

Verizon America's choice plan: 289 Million

Not really a whole lot of difference, giving the benefit of the doubt that these numbers are accurate. Does this make anyone want to jump over to Sprint to catch those 4 million extra analog users?
I'd much rather have 289 million people to whom I can get a good clear connection, with the knowledge that, even when traveling, I can call them and they can call me. With Sprint, traveling's a problem, esp. when so much of the coverage is not theirs, or is analog. And even within my home town of Chicago, and other cit...
