HTC Trophy is approved

It looks like a version of the HTC Trophy with CDMA support has been approved and there is also a discount being offered for Microsoft employees. Unfortunately there's still no official release date. Do any of you "insiders" have the scoop? It's bout time for Verizon to offer a WP7 phone. TIA

That Microsoft employee discount came out late last year. Without any official word on the phone, there's little to hope for at the moment.

I think it would make more sense for everyone to wait for an LTE Windows Mobile 7 device. At the rate things are going, the phone will release to a tiny niche market (for Verizon) on old technology, leading to unimpressive results (as evident by TWO generations of Palm Pre phones).

Certainly an LTE phone would be my first choice, but has there even been mention of a LTE WP7 phone at this point? I've been waiting years for a phone that will transparently sync my Hotmail email and calendar.

Wow! A friend of mine keeps hounding me for word on Windows 7 for the same reason. That makes TWO of you now. I guess there is a market for Windows Phone 7 after all.

Not even going to consider carrying a Windows Mobile phone in my store, or Palm. Nobody wants them, and why would you? Even Blackberry's are going VERY slow compared to Android.

The reason I'm considering a WP7 phone is because of the integration with hotmail. As far as I know it's the only phone OS that transparently syncs hotmail email and calendar. There doesn't seem to be a straight forward way to do this on the Android OS. Verizon offers a "corporate email" app that I've heard can be used to sync Hotmail, but they charge an extra $10/month which I feel is unacceptable given how much service already costs for a smart phone. Other than using a WP7 phone the only solution seems to ...

I believe Hotmail now has exchange or activesync support. You should be able to use the built in email client on any Android device and set it up like an Exchange server. I don't have experience with it but remember reading about it. I'm sure you can search and find the settings.

Have used HP pda's / windows OP sys. before smart phones. Insist any carrier I use has PC based phones. Have over 2000 tasks in Outlook on my pc. Same docs sync. over 2 my smartphone. Tasks is all words in docs search able. MS word & other word processors only come up on a search if the word or phrase is in the title of the doc. MS sync is set up so that changes made during the day on the PC or the phone ... the task docs combine the data entries made on either machine in a given doc. Have not been with Verizon because of their lack of PC based phones. Hv test driven I phone and Droids. Neither will sync more than contacts and some calender items even with expensive work arounds. Off site exchange services like drop box, G-mail, cloud etc ...
