i recently got a samsung fascinate and i love it, i want to get TV at my house and am compromising. Here is a question for you.

I just got the phone and signed a new 2 year agreement. If i have a basic phone and put that on the account instead of the samsung will this do anything to my account. i will downgrade my phone bill about $40 a month if i can do this. I would then just sell the samsung if it is possible.

Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It all depends on where you got it. A lot of retailers have a minimum term clause for high end phones.

Basically you need to keep that phone on your plan for 6 months. If you don't the retailer will bill you the full cost of the device (since they won't get any money from verizon if you drop phone before 6 month time period)

You need to check with where you bought the phone

If you don't want the Samsung return it and get your $300 back you likely paid for the phone (pre-rebate). If you got it for less at a different retailer you likely are contractually obligated to keep it active as Menno said.

If you purchased the phone directly from Verizon you're good. Just don't cancel the line. You are bound by the early termination fee you agreed to to get the phone at a discount. If you purchased it from an Indirect then yeah you likely signed another agreement. Where did you buy it?

Then you are good. Sign into myverizon and select the activate phone link. I would not bother calling customer service and certainly not go to a store.
