Calling all Verizon Reps!!!

Hello everybody!

As some of you may know I'm a cingular rep with a verizon phone. (no cingular in my area...I know it's ironic) Well today is the day to update all our phones (3 in all) and add a new line of service. (our 2 year contract is up). We were on a 35.99 plan I believe. Now that you know the sitution..here's the problem

We keep getting the run around!!!! I've talked to 3 reps today, and one even put me on hold for 30 minutes! We are completely aware of the new every two and we would like to take advantage of that on our main line of service. But no one can give us a straight answer. How can I get my 100.00? One rep says it's 50 instant and 50 mir with the phone...but that doesn't make too much sense since this is for existing...

Regarding NE2, I think they've done away with it by and large.

In my store, you automatically get $200 off of the retail price of the phone (instantly) when you are a new customer, or an existing customer qualified for an upgrade. That is how I thought it always worked, I know its the same at Verizon stores also.

We have 710 for $399 retail ($199 for new/upgrade), so we aren't exactly competitively priced, but the Samsung A670 is $39 ($200 "NE2" plus $10 extra promo), Samsung A650 and Moto V60S is free.

Why dont you just order off the verizon website, those phones are pretty well price ($99 for V710).

Also check out letstalk.net, they have good prices.

By the way, I sell Verizon and am getting Cingular shortly (no lie, if Cing...

They have not "done away" with NE2. See my reply below.

You sure?

When I upgrade a customer, usually the NE2 code dealie gets "reject"ed by default just like "1000 mobile to mobile" and other crap.

Maybe I am just misunderstanding, but even without NE2 on your contract, everyone gets a new phone at promo pricing when resigning after 22 months on a 2 year contract, right?

My comments are limited in scope to the Midwest and Great Plains markets.

You are correct, but you are failing to distinguish between promo pricing and New Every Two.

Customers get promo price when they activate new service, and they can also get promo price if they originally had a one year contract and they have fulfilled the one year term. If a customer is on a two year contract and they have had their phone for a year and half, they may get promo price if they qualify for an "early upgrade." In my market, you can do this if your phone is over a year old and your plan is $59.99 or higher. And as everyone knows, supervisors and empowered call center reps sometimes make other types of exceptions to allow an "early upgrade" at promo ...

You're right on both accounts and it is the same in the NE. The tiered NE2 should be releasing soon because ACSS in I2K East is already prepared for it. I believe that the lowest NE2 discount will be 100.00 though. I have no solid info though.

In order to get the NE2 100.00 CR applied to your acct you will first have to accept the Terms & Conditions of the 2yr Contract over an IVR.. All of the info is sent to you in the package that you will receive.. And on top of the NE2 CR you will also get a MIR form that you will need to send in.. and as yo u may know, thats takes forever... but ya, as far as the NE2 CR goes.. Once 2yr is accepted then the CR will be applied...

If you have anymore questions just reply back.. 😉

The NE2 discount is applied at the point of sale. If you order over the phone, the discount is applied to the price of the phone. You do not have to accept the contract first. The phone is ordered at a designated price, and the phone cannot be activated until you accept the contract. But the discount is built into the price when the order is placed.

Maybe they do things differently out in California, but this is the silliest thing I've ever heard.

See my additional comments below.

Here's how it works.

The new every two discount is a discount up to $100 towards the two-year contract (advertised price) cost of the phone of your choice. If the phone you chose has any mail-in rebates, you'll be responsible for that. For instance, you chose a phone that is $129.99 with a $50 MIR. You would receive a discount of 79.99 leaving the cost at $50 and you'd receive a $50 mail in rebate with the phone.

As far as matching online prices, it's possible, but doesn't happen too often. It would need to be approved by management, but you can always just order online through the my account section of the website.

Keep in mind that you can use both the NE2 credit and the BOGO offers with your second and third lines.

If you order over the phone, you're probably going to have to deal with the mail-in rebate. His example is excellent. The mail-in rebate is part of the pricing of the phone. You do in fact get $100 off the two year contract price. But even if you choose a phone with a two year contract price of $99.99, if that phone has a rebate available, you will be charged $50 for the phone and then you will have to claim the rebate. The phone will end up being free. But you can't get the phone for free and get a check in the mail for $50. The rebates are part of a contractual relationship between VZW and the manufacturer. So if you order over the phone or buy the phone at a retail store, and the phone has a rebate, you will have to pay the amount of the ...

You can also get the 100 off in ADDITION to mail ins. So if the phone is 150 (like the 710) you can pay 50 out of pocket and mail in a 50 rebate to get it for free. Another reason why you need to do the rebates if there is one is so you don't get more than free. Why would a company pay you 50 dollars to take a 300 dollar phone off their hands? Even with the rebates you have to mail in it is a great deal and you really won't get a better deal anywhere else UNLESS you pay almost full retail then mail in ALOT more rebates.

Okay, I finally got it all taken care of..unfortunally it was with the fourth rep I talked to. We got all the phones ordered, and used the 100 NE2 for my phone which is was a moto V710, and since it was 99.99, it ended up being free. It turns out my account wasn't set up for NE2 and so we weren't getting the discount online. We got the right rep and she fixed it all. Too bad it took 4 to do it!

I hope I like this phone. I've already started looking at headsets with bluetooth...yippee

They didn't. The software patch fixes problems involving the V710 and Bluetooth functionality in certain vehicles.

The patch also imposes restrictions on the function of the transflash card. Depending on when you originally bought the phone, the flash card may have the ability to transfer photos to another device. The software patch blocks this function.

Im going to verify that. I was told by a co worker that has the 710 that it unblocked the BT. I will post tonight about what the sw release actually did/does.
