Roaming overseas
I have a Blackberry Bold 9650 and was thinking of purchasing a prepaid local SIM card when I travel to Israel. I found out today that neither AT&T nor T-Mobile will allow the transmission of data on their prepaid SIM cards for foreigners traveling to the U.S. That got me wondering whether it would be the same with regard to foreign cellphone service providers. go to your connections on BB and turn off radio and everything except wifi. Then you can just use that to grab your emails when in your hotel or whatever...

I am paranoid... so that would insure I get no roaming chargers. Your phone shouldn't work but there are a lot of areas with cdma roaming so I wouldn't want my BB to be receiving data while traveling. So for me I would play it safe and turn everything off. I know it probably wouldn't happen, but to be 100% safe I would just leave the wifi radio on only.

it would depend on what country or countries you are visiting. You can see on verizon website if they have any cdma roaming.
