so I got to play with one of these today and I must say the keyboard is not the greatest but it is a huge improvement over the first. I also liked the little changes they made to the outer housing. Seemed like a solid update to an already great phone.

Now I am torn... to many choices.. plus I kinda want to see the r2d2 before pulling the trigger

Played with my coworkers Droid X last night, if the Droid 2's speaker is as loud as the original it can beat the Droid X. 😲

I like the X... but to big for me. Thinking droid2, but I have always liked the incredible, then r2d2 and that samsung are coming soon and I am betting HTC is due to drop a new one soon as well.

I will probably just get droid 2

HTC needs to drop a carbon copy of the Evo (minus Wi-Max, of course).

droid 2 has some problems. Texting on it sucks, I cant find a way to adjust the settings and it shows your messages in these giant bubbles that take up far more space than the message itself. Emails are displayed in list format only showing 6 per page instead of 8 like on the original. The stupid phone does not even appear to be able to view some htlm emails as it shows some html emails as being attachments, and says the attachment is too large, how is the 158k attachment too large?

The browser works great though! Too bad my main use of the phone is texting and emails, which are both sub par when compared to the original.

the droid x is going to have the exact same problems, since the problem I have is the moto blur overlay and the crap preinstalled applications. For some reason Motorola thinks their blur interface is a good thing, so thus they force it on you and it doesnt appear to have a way to disable it.

the phone also comes with multiple apps preinstalled that you can not uninstall that you cant turn off (if you close them they open right back up) that have access to your personal information and your network connection. So effectively, the phone comes preinstalled with viruses that you can not remove because they are part of the phone.

The only good part of the phone I have found is the browser, everything else so far is junk. The phone actually ...

So got my Droid2 yesterday. Yes the speaker isn't as loud as the original. 😡
And now I'm starting to thing there's something funny going on with the 3G/Wi-Fi radio as the phone (while on Wi-Fi) randomly switches to 3G. Or it can't display both icons at the same time. As I've never seen both at the same time. And it seems to randomly drop Wi-Fi all together and it's well within range. 😕

The wifi on it is by far weaker than the original. I am sitting here picking up 8 wifi networks on my droid and only 3 on my droid 2... the one whos in my house, where the router is 10 feet from me is showing 4 bars on my droid 1 and only 2 bars on my droid 2... something is screwed up

I have read that in a couple of different reviews. I guess the wifi is not as strong and the speaker is not as loud. That is to bad, but I still think I might buy one.

Hopefully they can fix the wifi with an update...maybe it is just a software glitch and not a hardware issue.
