Droid X- Senstivity

I just got the Droid X and the screen is way too sensitive. I am not touching the screen very hard and the letters or numbers I push multiply. I called Verizon and Motorola and they have no fixes. Has anyone else experienced this (I know we all just got ours) but I'm trying to avoid returning the phone due to the back order. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

the phone's screen is capacitive. this means that it just needs contact with your finger to register input and doesn't need any real pressure, so if your finger is still on the screen, it will count as constant pressing.

But on an Android, that should bring up the "special characters" menu for the key held, not continuous character streams, no?

The Droid-X has a multi-touch keyboard so it may be different.
