Contract up soon

johnstl

My contract is up in 2 months, I was wondering if there are any other Android phones coming soon or should I just go ahead and get the Droid?

Any help or rumors would be much appreciated.

the nexus one is coming out in the spring. It has a faster processor, but no keyboard.

The Internet says we're getting a couple phones, but the Internet can sometimes be as reliable as a magic-8 ball.

The only thing definite as of right now is the Motorola Devour.

I would consider the NexusOne to be definate.. only because it's at google.com/phone and they announced we would be getting it.

But like tmobile, I'm not sure what requirements Google will place on the subsidized price of the phone, and it's almost certain they won't honor the NE2.

Kinda feel sorry for customer service/salespeople when it does launch trying to explain that to customers.

How do they let them know they don't get the NE2 discount off best buy prices?

Same concept. It isn't a Verizon Wireless sold phone, just a VZW approved phone.

But... this is what we've been clamoring for since the dawn of the 700 MHz: an unbranded, unregulated smartphone on the Verizon towers.

I feel a bit sorry for the customers who are going to be told "I won't help you with that and no one else here will, either" for the first time in their Verizon experience. But I don't feel sorry for the network operators or employees at all. They're about to get a cash cow device that they won't have to provide any technical support for. How could that be depressing in any way?

I don't feel bad for me either, those customers will be the ones i can say get lost to and not get an earful from my supervisors for saying such.

You're joking right? Ever worked tech or cs at a call center? It is NOT pretty. Spoiled brat customers who ask for a supervisor or threaten to take their business elsewhere if you don't spit shine their ace. Yeah. Good luck explaining to them that they cannot exchange that Sexy Nexy for a Droid. Seriously.

I am getting signs printed for my locations that show all the things we charge for that they receive for free when they purchase from Texas Wireless.

#1 will be technical support.

Had a customer come in with their Moto Droid for help and I assumed he bought it from us. Did not ask for a receipt, just helped him. Spent an hour one day. Told him if the issues continue we would swap out the handset since it was new.

A couple days later he came in saying he got him replacement phone but the guys at Wolf Camera couldn't help him setup his pop email so could we do it again. I asked why he went to Wolf and he replied, "That's where I bought it". Ohhhhhhhhh. He also mentioned the lines are so long at the corporate store a few miles aw...

Some people will never satisfied. It comes to a point where they cost the company more money than they actually give. The company gets no return on investment. They blindly still do not understand the problem. It is truly amazing!

Yeah. It takes a special person to deal with the public face-to-face and put up with the abuse they heap.
