Need To Vent

I am sick of all the people that come in here to talk up the iPhone. To be honest I could care less if Apple and Verizon struck a deal with the iPhone cause I have an iPod touch and hate it. Just my 2 cents

I make you sick. I do not have an ipod Touch but my cousin and his wife have iphones and their eight year old has an ipod Touch. I think they are pretty cool! I think it would be great if consumers had the opportunity to choose the iphone without being forced to choose AT&T's network. It would be even better if they made one for Sprint and T-Mobile, too.

I agree, but honestly, my kids have Ipod Touches and they use the Wifi internet almost everywhere (and I mean places you wouldn't think). There's no expensive data plan, the calendar is extremely nice and usable, and I'm seriously considering getting one for myself and then just buying the stupid non-3G Verizon phone that won't require ANY data...since Verizon is pi$$ing me off these days.

Or get one of those new Palm phones that has the MiFi built in, so you can all share ONE data package.

$40 a month, plus you have to charge more often, AND you all have to be in the same room at all times...

sounds like fun.

Oh, and that's on top of the $30 monthly just for data on the phone, before you pay an extra $40 to act as a hot spot.

Yeah maybe its because I have the first generation touch my wifi is workable. The battery on it blows but thats because its a 1st generation one. Anyhoo the iPhone is a cool toy but for me not a deal breaker, if it comes to Verizon's network great for whoever wants one if not, I'll sleep better regar...

The iphone is far from a toy. Its an extremely capable phone that is easy to use and has some great mulitmedia capabilities....doesnt make it a toy.

In a lot of case I feel like the iphone is more useful than my blackberry for business situations.

I agree, many people think the iPhone is nothing but a toy but put it in the hands of an IT Administrator like myslef and I can do things on it that I had a really hard time doing on my Blackberry or Win Mobile Phone. I can establish a VPN connection with my iPhone and then open up remote desktop and remote into a server and reset passwords or unlock accounts or lock accounts just as if I were sitting at my desk doing it. I can even remote into workstations and look at error messages when one of my users call me about something, reboot workstations and servers very easily, and exchange email on it works great.

I am not bashing carriers just stating a fact with something I can do with my phone and do it very easily.

There's no need to vent. Its a phone man! And not just any phone, probably one of the most sought after phones in the world. Apple has done a great job with the iphone and with 4.0 coming soon, im excited to see what's in store for the platform.

The iphone is no doubt a game changer and if verizon gets it in July, I will be in line to get one day one.

The excitement is fun and from the looks of it, people may actually have some to cheer about. The apple conference next week should be a good one!

If the iphone is a toy, then so is every android phone, or windows mobile, or blackberry.

the iphone is just as capable, if not more capable in some situations.

In my opinion the Iphone only has 2 weaknesses and they are deal breakers for heavy users. The phone is garage. I live in a 5 bar all the time AT&T area and had the 3G. The signal would jump all over the place and drop calls in my house upstairs sitting in front of a window.

The second bad thing is the non-removable battery, which makes the Iphone (which is an awesome device) a bad choice when you are on the go.

I agree with Chris that it is a very capable device and having an Itouch is all the great parts without the AWFUL phone parts.

Now IF this new version is just a solid phone even with an equal battery, Apple will be VERY happy and so will alot of Verizon customers and reps assuming Verizon gets it.

Just my opinion.
