What's the hold up with Android handsets with VZW?
Would someone speculate as to why it is taking so long to get an Android device on VZW? Once again VZW is falling behind and missing an important handset that consumers want.

Well, VZW is well known for their locked down phones and crippled smartphones. So I can only imagine Android has them shaken’ in their boots.

No big deal about Android handsets. The majority of VZW customers would not buy them. There are a select few, but not a majority.

over a year ago they used to "cripple" gps. This is no longer the case.
And no, Wifi isn't a valid argument. The phones that HAD wifi on them continued to once they are activated on a Verizon plan. Wifi is Hardware, not software. Verizon never pushed for Wifi phones, which is why you don't see many of them.
Other than those two arguments... what "crippling" do they still do to their phones?

Motorola was supposedly working on one.
I wish they would be faster though.. ah well, my tour will be good enough until we get an HTC android phone.

I may be mistaken, but i believe that part of the issue has to do w/ cdma support w/in the Android OS itself. That is being changed of course very soon w/ the Hero being released on Sprint. I think that VZW will have one on the market before the holiday season. At least I am hoping for a nice new touch screen phone for the network before January when I get my upgrade.
