Why do you think their phones are lame?

What exactly are you looking for in a phone that they don't offer?

A messaging phone that is not the size of a brick, or a messaging phone that hasn't been around for two year like their pos alias! A phone like the Lotus or something new would be great!

Love verizon wireless but I agree with the phone choice. I would love to get something like the samsung behold (tmobile). Verizon needs some more phones with the keyboard that u dont have to have a data package for.

Why are you complaining about the entry-level messaging handset selection if you have BlackBerries on your account? (Which VZW doesn't mess with in the slightest.)

your entitled to your opinion on the enV2. If you don't like flip QWERTY handsets, more power to you. I personally have never seen a Slider that worked well enough for me to ever consider owning one- QWERTY or not! LG does much, much better work when thy use a hinged design (ala Chocolate 1 & 2, Decoy fiascos). I can't fault them at all for sticking with designs that work, even if they do add 0.75 ounces to the mas...

Granted, it might be a point to debate that certain other companies have a better selection of phones, but as far as I know, the big four all offer texting phones, blackberries, slim phones, camera phones,3G phones, world phones, touchscreen phones, etc.

I just get so tired of the "no cool phones" complaint in all of these forums. Heck, I even see that one over in the AT&T forum from time to time. What do folks expect these days anyway?

Agreed.

If you're really that upset about the selection of phones not meeting your "perfect" handset criteria, get yourself an Electrical Engineering degree and go build one yourself. RIM, Apple, LG and Samsung are not interested in building custom...

What do they expect?

-A phone that does everything they want it to.. and if it doesn't have a feature, they should be able to add it on.
-A phone that is the "perfect size
-Cool colors

Essentially, they want a phone made out of silly putty

Nope. Perfectly happy with the phones out there. Just don't want a data plan which is apparently FORCED on customers who need a decent calendar and full qwerty. And then the choruses start about why have a phone when you won't use the features? Well, let's see, I didn't necessary want this phone, but that being said, it does what I need it to, and, oh that's right, because nobody makes a phone with a full calendar and a keypad that isn't a data device. As for being "cool", my Palm Centro is far from cool, but it works for me. I guess I better never break it or lose it or I'm screwed...thanks Verizon.

Phones with full keyboards that don't require a dataplan:
Alias
EnV2
Versa (the calander seems better on this one, but it could just be because of the new software, and the same basic program underneath, need to test it more)
Voyager
Glyde (terrible phone, but it is there)
Any older Smartphones (Centro, That samsung one, the motoQ)

all have full keyboards. I do feel you on the calendar issue, and I do wish that my EnV2 had a better one.

But the data plan is there to save a majority of the customers money. (I think epik went over it before)

I agree that there should be a more robust calender in the average "dumb phone," but that is a separate issue from Data plans on smartphones. The Versa is a true hybrid device.. it can ...

Why the hell did Motorola make a POS Moto Adventure in an ugly color, can't withstand a fall of two feet, side button constantly activate PTT unless locked, takes an act of congress to get a ring tone to it, and altogether a horrible device!!!!

Answer: Because verizon sucks donkey balls and gave their stupid input in how they wanted the device to be!

While the Renegade is built like a Tank, doesn't activated PTT unless engaged, comes with TV, standard UI, can send a link and get any ring tone I want, for Free, and overall a great phone!

Sprint phones are better!

Ok, this happened to me a while ago and i need to vent this about my experience with Sprint CS.

I had a customer who ported their number from T-mobile to Sprint then to Verizon within 2 hours. Now the customer didnt tell me they just ported from tmobile onto sprint less then an hour before So right from the getgo you know this is gonna have problems. Well the port was not working out so I called T-mobile customer service and they gave me their port center they say that they pushed it through to sprint and now i had to go through them.

I then call sprint and tell the CS rep the situation and they say, " awww hell no" (under their breath) "let me transfer you"

Time spent thus far with sprint 1 minute

I then get a nextel Business...
