Help with Family Plans

Hey a Verizon on the phone rep told me that if i wanted to split plans on the family plan like just have me on premium and have the other line a select plan or so, he said ONLY the primary has to be premium and the 2nd can be whatever and who ever told me the both lines need to be premium are wrong. But the thing is when i was testing this out on the site it did not give me the premium option for the Voyager phone and the select for LG 5500. Any help?

Yes, you can have just the primary on Premium and the secondaries on select...

Not sure about the website but I can do Primary Premium with Secondary Select here at the store.

As far as I have been told the first two lines HAVE to be premium and any secondary (i.e third, fourth and fifth) can be select and that is from my verizon rep.

What no one seems to have mentioned is that when a secondary line is on a "select" plan it's actually something a bit more like "select secondary share w/ premium primary."

There are literally two versions - a secondary that shares with a select primary, and a secondary that shares with a premium primary but isn't itself a premium line.

I'm not sure if the web shows that correctly.

I didn't get the info from the web. I got it straight from my verizon rep.

He may frown on you not making both lines Premium but it's technically possible through eroes and netace

would you let a sale slip away because the customer wants a primary/select setup and your rep says not to do that?

Not at all but I've never had to worry about losing the sale due to that particular reason. Usually it's low coverage up here in the boondocks that would cost us a sale lol.

Yes, believe it or not, this sales rep tries to do right by customers instead of slamming them with things they don't need (as the company would prefer me to do).

You said: "But the thing is when i was testing this out on the site it did not give me the premium option for the Voyager phone and the select for LG 5500."

By "on the site" I assumed you were on the web. Do you mean you were on the phone with customer care when you said you were "on the site?"

As I said, I'm not sure if the Verizon web site lists the $9.99 Select share w/ Premium Primary plans as options, but they're there. I use them all the time on the internal systems employees use.

I have had my Voyager for about 12.5 months, and I have it on the Premium plan, and have my wife's phone and my mother-in-law's phone on the family plan as select phones. I did this change in the store when I bought my voyager last year. I would speak with any higher up in the store until I get it since you can say you know others who have done it also.

That really doesn't make sense at all. There is only one primary line. The 2nd, 3rd, and so on are all secondary lines. Just because the first 2 lines makes up the 69.99 or whatever the price may be, doesn't mean they have to be the same. The primary is all that is required to be premium.

We're switching to a new system tomorrow. I really hope we don't lose the ability to make 1 line premium and the secondary a select when this happens.

And yes, I've done accounts where the primary is a Premium and 4 other lines are a compatible Select plan.

I am not impressed with SHOPPE at all. Every port I've done has given me problems. Manual Contracts are becoming my specialty ☚ī¸ 😕

SHOPP will be able to do everything that Eroes can do and then some. So yes you can choose the 9.99 premium secondary with only unlimited messaging and as for porting... its in the same tab as finding a normal number. you just have to check port in. they are working out the bugs in it but hopefully by the 15th when it launches all of the bugs will be gone. LOL yeah right i know but here's to hoping!
