The price is advertised. There have been several pre-orders at the advertised price. It will not change.

i think what corporate was saying is that some people will milk them for more money, like 'oh we only have 3 so they are 350 each, if u dont like it go somewhere else' i think.

I don't know how it works with corporate, but I work for a premium retailer, and if we sold the phone for anything other than the price set by out company, the commission we get on the sale goes to crap (if we sell it higher or lower, doesn't matter).

We make next to no money on the phone itself, but instead we make it on the plan, acc, and of course the features they add. Overpricing the phone costs us money, it doesn't make it.

Same with our Premium Retailer.
Some of our phones are a bit cheaper than the corporate store and the rest are the same price.
We do have a policy that we can only offer a $50 (not $100) New Every Two credit on the Storm. That ended up being a problem yesterday for a customer so he didn't bite although I'm pretty sure I had the last one in town. Someone else ended up getting it on their upgrade instead.

Our corporate office makes the prices, so yes we do "Make up our own." But once those prices are set by our company, we are not supposed to deviate from them unless we get prior approval.

We have over 160 stores, so they want at least some consistency among them.

I don't know about a price increase that early, but I have a feeling that the price will increase shortly after launch based on what I've seen.

Just hinting at the instant $50 discount instead of the MIR. VZW is offering this until Dec 15th because of the " none is stock" issue.
