Exactly what is visual voicemail. Im leaving alltel now for the storm and I have the voice to text from Alltel which I dont think VZW has.

Is visual voicemail where you can read the voicemail without having to call the voicemail all the time to listen to it? if now can someone clarify what visual voicemail is?

thank you

it is a UI enhancement that displays your voicemails in order (kinda like text messages) This way you can see who called and when and listen to your voicemails in whatever order you like. It is still voice messages, but it makes selecting them a little easier.

I think some Verizon phones have voice to text, but I am not as familiar with that program.

Forgive me for being thick. What would be the difference if you have Caller ID you can see who is calling and then if they leave a message you know it was who was on the caller ID.

Sorry for being a pain

This is a horrible video (reminds me of Blair Witch Project) but it should help you..

You get to basically see and listen to voicemails in any order you want. Good for business people who get lots of calls and so on.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for the video your right reminds me of Blair Witch!!!!!!!!

I guess I will get use to the visual voicemail but I have to tell you I am going to miss the voice to text big time.

I wonder what the possibility of Verizon getting the voicemail to text once they take over Alltel.

thanx again

Well, from my experience.. voice to text would be a handset feature (like visual voicemail) not a carrier feature. So when this merger happens, I am sure the handsets will carry over/cross work.

I personally enjoyed listening to my texts via my old EnV and EnV2. They'd read out your texts. It was a great past time to let it read random stuff that your friends send. :-)

My Dare is wicked cool, though. And does it too. It's fun! Although it is not a great text device.

I went back and looked at the video again and if we can set up the Storm so that the voicemail will play when you touch the message you want to listen to without actaully calling into the voicemail and going through the password and all that it wouldnt be bad.

To listen to alltel voicemail you have to dial into the system and then wait to put in your password and then finally listen to the message.

The v2t just pops up and you can read and keep doing whatever it is your doing.
