What can I do?

I currently have the EnV with a 59.99 plan and a USB Modem with the 5GB plan. I am spending about $140.00 a month. I want to get the Storm, but I still have another 16 months on my USB Modem. Is there anything I can do to get rid of my Modem without an ETF and then upgrade my Env to a Storm. I want to try to spend about 100 a month instead of 140. Please help?

The short answer, no. You have two contracts. Both contracts must remain active until their contracts are over.

Well it depends how many minutes you would want on the Storm. Also, is your EnV eligible for an upgrade now? If so, and if you don't want the USB modem anymore, you have another option. You could upgrade your EnV line to the Storm, so you get the discounted pricing. You could then put either the Storm or the EnV on the USB Card line and change the plan to a regular plan. This would keep you from having 3 lines and cut the cost.

You mentioned wanting to get out of your contract for your USB modem. Instead of cancelling that contract you could do an ESN change and put another device on that "phone number/line" and then make it a family plan with your main line or even a stand alone plan. Just because there is a USB modem on that line does not mean it must remain on that line and remain on the Internet plan. You can put any phone and any plan on that line. So if you don't want the net anymore, use that line for another device. You'll then save yourself money and not have to cancel a contract.

i don't use more than 450 minutes in a month and some months i dont even come close to that. i do have unlimited text which makes it 59.99. if i make it a family plan with the EnV and change the ESN, how much would that be with 450 minutes, unlimited text, and the data package on the Storm?

The lowest share plan is 700 minutes. You could do that with the two lines plus unlimited texting on both for 99.99 s month. Add the data plan for 29.99 snd you're at 129.98.

ok. then could i forward all of my calls from my EnV to my Storm so that i wouldn't have carry two phones with me. Also would there be any downside to doing this?

The only thing with call forwarding is that it takes out of both allowances of minutes

No. It doesn't. I forward my 6900 to my Curve. When someone calls me on my 6900 the peak minutes are only taken from my Curve. On my bill it shows an In call (Mobile-to-mobile) from my 6900 to my Curve.

You'd probably be better off to put the Storm on your line where the EnV is since that is the line you use. Then you wouldn't have to use call forwarding or anything. Then just put the EnV on the other line and let it sit there.

Sure. The USB Modem already has a phone number, that you may not even know. That's going to be like a new number to you because you've never used it to make or receive calls on. When you put the EnV on that line it'll have that number. Of course you can also get the number changed, but that's $15.

If you can find someone that is willing to take over that line, you can turn it over to them and get it out of your name. Basically find a friend or family member that is looking to get a cell phone on Verizon. Maybe a whole new plan or wants to add a line or something. You can just call Verizon and give permission for this other person to take over the line you don't want. They then call in and get the line moved in to their name. Now they have assumed the contract and liability for it and your free, without penalty.

could i do assumption of liability on a phone that i have on a family plan, or do i have to do assumption of liability on the EnV before i switch the plan and get the new phone.

It doesn't make a difference. You can do an assumption of liability to any line at any time. Just be sure you're keeping the line that has the upgrade available and the number you want.

Thank you to all that have replied to help me with my predicament. i am still not sure if i will keep my modem or do an ESN change on my EnV on to that plan and get the Storm. i will see how much money each option is and then decide.

Definately good ideas. Maybe he can also do an Assumption of liability. See if anyone wants to take over the broadband card or the ENV that will now be on that line.

The downside would be that you cannot use your Storm for voice and data simultaneously.
