I received a post card for the new Blackberry over a month ago. What are they waiting for...Christmas???

Is it true it does not have built in WiFi?

Did Verizon Cripple it?

hey

can u name me one phone we sell tha is crippled?

you dont even know what crippling is, our just saying that because others say it.

we DONT NEED WI FI!!! WE HAVE COVERAGE IN 85% OF AMERICA for rev a speeds

and dont you watch tv?

Im sooooo sick of people coming on here complaining about how we sell our smartphones, they work more efficeintly then ANY OTHER CARRIERS, hence why we have the lowest churn.

My Motorola V710 was crippled and there are several others. Whe I'm in the desert and parts of the south, you DO NOT have coverage and we NEED WiFi.

the v710? Seriously?

First, that phone came out over 4 years ago. Can you name a phone in this half of the decade?

Nobody "needs wifi" its nice, and you might want it, but it the phone should function pretty good without it.

And quite frankly, if you "need" wifi, then GET A PHONE WITH WIFI!!! why is the storm even on your list if wifi is so important.

From what I understand, they are holding back the release until they are sure that they won't go out of stock on the phones during the holidays. They want this release to be big and to be successful. why rush something only to say "oops" when an error occurs.

That's nice they're stock piling them...they'll be out of day by the time they release them...typical Verizon move. Why advertise so much if they ARE NOT available????????

You obviously don't understand sales do you? You advertise before something is available to get interest in it so that when it does become available a lot of people will come in looking for one (and buy one) just because they've heard so much about it.

Verizon isn't the only company to do this, nor are they the first. It is used in almost every market and is a very effective tactic.

And they arn't stockpiling them. They are making sure they have enough. Or would you prefer they use the tactic Nintendo used for the Wii and intentionally short stock them so that the offmarket demand is so high and it takes months before they are actually available in stores for more than a few hours?

You don't have to be like me, but if you've never heard of building up anticipation for a product before release... Every company does it. ATT and apple did it with the iphone, sprint with the instinct, Nintendo with the wii.

yes, they are waiting for the Christmas shopping season

why wouldn't they?
...

Nov 10, 2008, 2:29 PM
Because people who use these phones are typically business users and don't shop for them at Christmas...they need them throughout the year...not as toys.

Is it a default response when someone calls you out over the internet to tell them to get a life? It seems that everyone resorts to either that one or the ever popular "your mom" retort.

you are both on a website that talks about cellphones. You are asking about a specific phone that isn't even available yet and you think this qualifies you to tell someone else to get a life over the interwebs?

Are you saying that Boost Mible is crippled?

Are you saying that it's hard to spell palsy?

Why associate Boost Mobile with mental retardation?

Cripple it??? I bet you are the kind of customer that wants the phone to do everything. Then when the phone is released, it does everything you want it to, but it is too expensive. Some customers are never happy. You have waited this long for it, couple more days will not hurt.
