Just wondering...
Do you have to have a Data plan to for the Q9M to work. I have the Dare currently and i have the 15.00 data package on that. Can that act as my data plan?

I just got a really good deal on this phone, but wasnt sure if i had to have the Data package of 29.99 or 49.99. and if i do i'll prolly just end up selling it.

Just thought i'd ask.

Thanks!
Jake

After 11/14/08 you will need the data plan of either 29.99 or 44.99. If you activate it before then you will not need a data plan. The 15.00 vcast feature will not act as your data plan on the moto q9m. I would recommend the 29.99 data plan if you do activate it. For 1 buck a day, you get email and internet service.

There is a software upgrade for the phone. You will not get charged for pix messages. You can not send messages longer than 160 characters on any vzw phone.

VZW messages will split after 160 characters. I don't know what phone you have but after the 160 the new phones split. The software will not fix that issue. The software will fix some of the freezing of the software of the phone.

On LG phones if one composes texts longer than 160 characters it will sen but it sends as multiple messages (up tp 10) to verizon customers. It will only send the first 160 to non-verizon customers.

After 11/14/08 only NEW PDA / Smartphones will require the data. This means Storm, Saga, Omnia, Touch Pro, etc. The current line-up of phones, excluding Blackberry, will continue to have the option of adding data, leaving it on pay per kb, or blocking it (which also blocks pix).

Pix do not charge data, and hasven't for two years now. Anyone who sees it charge for a pix and can prove without doubt that it was only pix actually has faulty billing that needs to be fixed.
