We have an Asurion rep who comes in once a month to make sure we know how to file claims. All we do is complain to her about the quality of some of the replacement phones.

Not sure what you do for them, but I'd pick a local store and hang out some time, make some friends. You'll find that some of the VZW people in the stores will help you out with warranty replacements and some discounts, when they can. The company's been tightening down on discounts here.

I doubt that your association with Asurion will help at all. If you're on a calling plan of at least $49.99, then you might be eligible for an annual upgrade or an early upgrade, as it's called either. Basically, you won't get a New Every Two amount off of your phone, but you'd be able to upgrade at two-year pricing. If you're a VIP customer, then you'd get an additional $50 off, though.

I think the association to Asurion should result in an additional charge 🤣 just kidding.

I've heard some great water damage stories. Examples:

Some guy took his phone to have it checked out by a store tech, since he was having issues with it. The rep noticed that it was wet. Why? Apparently, it was in-between the guy's legs as he was driving, and he wet his pants.

Some woman's daughter slipped in horse crap, causing her to roll down a hill and into a lake with her phone.

If you call the warranty department they may take pity and let you do the upgrade early with your ne2. Its hit or miss, though. Sometimes it works and sometimes you get someone who does nothing. You also have to wait for the phone to be shipped. If you have an employee discound on the account you may get a deal on a phone.
