Low Ringer Volume on Audiovox VX6600
I just went into my local Verizon store and bought the new XV6600. They activated the phone and then tried to call me but we could not hear the ring tone (it was there but so low that you could bearly hear it.) We tried everything (moved the slider bars for both ringtone and telephone ear piece to their highest position. Nothing helped.
We then tried the one other XV6600 in the store and had the same problem.
The salesman and the manager really tried. They called Technical Support but they were not able to offer any help. I finally had to return the phone and all accessories and get a credit.
Anyone have the same problem and any solutions.

It was not a bad batch. It was the entire lot of VX6600s. I just got off the phone with Audiovox, there is a known problem with the volume, both ringer volume and also earpiece volume and the software fix that they just put out doesn't fix the problem.

I just got off the phone with Audiovox on the East Coast. As soon as I mentioned that I had a problem with the Audiovox xv6600, the agent said, "Ringer Volume." He told me that it is a fact known by Verizon and Audiovox that there is a problem. He told me that a fix will be available in about 2 weeks. I hope the agent is right about 2 weeks. In the mean time, I have already returned my phone as I am not willing to spend over $600 for a new phone and then have to "fix" my new phone before using it.
