Hi!

I've got a quick question. I'm not too up on CDMA myself (work for Cingular after all), but my gf's roommate has a phone with Verizon. She's not able to upgrade currently, but her phone is falling apart at the seams. I recently disconnected service with Alltel and my 1 year old, perfectly good phone is now collecting dust. I know VZW and Alltel are close roaming parnters throughout most of the U.S. and have very similar networks. Since I don't have an outstanding balance and my Alltel service is non-existent is there any way that she can use my phone?

I understand it may require some reprogramming, but would it be possible without being a huge pain in the arse? I normally wouldn't ask anyone to go thru the trouble, but her ph...

I have successfully used Alltel phone on the VZW network in the past. All she would need to do is go into a VZW store to have them flash the firmware to VZW and they can enter the ESN to her account and VOILA! She'll have a new phone...

Thanks! I assume that would have to be done at a VZW corporate location, but I'm sure she'd appreciate it. Not to mention I'd hate for my poor little v60x to sit around for the next umpteen years unused. And God knows she'll use it, her ear is always glued to her phone (probably why it's fallin apart now).

I could use the money from selling it too 😈

true. could work.

but..
good luck convincing an ASO to spend 45 minutes flashing an Alltell phone with VZW software. It's not like thats against policy or anything 🤣
