New Activation Questions

I just received my phone that I ordered on the VZW website. I got a free Samsung 410 with a two year contract. The phone is cheap and the screen is too small. I am going to activate my Mom's old LG 8600 on the new line instead. Can I return the phone to the store or do I need to send it by FedEx. I want to have the contract changed to a one year and my upgrade date changed so I can get a phone when I want one since I won't be getting a new phone now. Does anyone know the policy? I am in SC.

You'll probably have to FedEx it.
As for getting an upgrade date changed, that won't get you a new phone "when you want one" beuacse you'll be setting up a contract with the 8600 and you won't be able to get an upgrade for a few months in the future.

you can actually bring the phone back to any 'direct' verizon store. you can either exchange that phone at the store and get something new and extend ur contract or return the phone and ur upgrade will go back to when it was before so u will be able to get a phone when u want one. I personally never liked the 8600 because of all the issues i had with it such as battery and signal. if u like how slim it is i would recommend the lg chocolate 3 flip phone.

Since you just got the phone send it back using the FedEx return label under the WFG. Call Tele-sales and activate the 8600 on a service only contract. You will be able to upgrade to a new phone at any time. The drawback to going this route is you will be giving up the number, but since you just got it, may not be an issue...

You dont have to go through telesales a store rep would be able to activate it as service only. Most customer service reps know that if a phone is bought and equipment is provided by customer that we can offer a phone at the two year price. Just realize that your ownedevice will not be under warranty and you will not be able to add any kind of insurance. 😳

Recommend telesales so they would not have to go to a store.

I know. I was being sarcastic. I get paid the same on annual upgrades as I do on Ne2 upgrades. Working indirectly is the best. No charge backs either after 7 days. 😉
