Is this possible to do with a Verizon data-capable phone. I was told that they do not support it, but I'm guessing that it is possible. Any information would be appreciated.

Have you checked the isync page on apple.com? That will give you the first glimpse at which phones are supported on macosx, as well as what features are capable with each one.

There is a whole yahoo news group associated to this subject. Check out this group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/maccellphone/

You'll also need the necessary modem scripts for you phone, and finally you'll have to configure a dialup location using your cell phone as an external modem.

The files section of this group has great resouces which I used to get my phone up and going. I've used my Moto. StarTac and my LG 4500 successfully as a modem with my Mac. It's not the fastest in the world, but great for checking email in an airport or a hotel room that charges nasty calling f...

Have to agree with you there. I 'went Mac' a few years ago and have never missed Windows. 🙂

It's also pretty pain-free to hear about the 'Windows virus of the month' that has everyone else scared, while I just smile and go about my business. No spyware worries either, nor does my hard drive need constant defragging. I love that I don't have to babysit my computer.

I live near an Apple Store, so finding software is really no prob. MS Office is what I mainly use, and yep, there's a Mac version. Heck, there's even a fair amount of games for it, like World of Warcraft. 🙂

Oh, and they've got Firefox (the best web browser, period) for OS X as well. So much better than IE. 🙂

and don't forget that if you just "have" to run a PC program, you just start up Virtual PC and there you have it.

World of Warcraft is ruining my life. I never leave the house anymore.
