The phone nobody will blame?

I've seen it happen many times. It happens on every network out there...AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobil and yes, even Verizon. Someone is looking to sign up to a new network so they start looking at phones. They read reviews, they ask questions, and they ultimately pick a phone based on those recomendations.
Then it happens. For whatever reason (and there are MANY possibilities)they will start to have issues with their service or phone. It might be bad sound quality or maybe poor signal coverage...whatever. This frustrated consumer will then turn to the message boards here on phonescoop to try and get some answers. As soon as someone sees someone else complain about "their" network, the first thing they will say is, "Well, it's no wonder you...

Matt, Don't listen to them. I work for Verizon and like you said all phones have issues... Honestly, No one has a perfect phone. They say they do but someone else will say different. The EnV2 is a great choice. It locks up time to time but if you take care of it and power it off once a day it won't do that. Make sure you order online too. Better discounts. If you get a live chat... I hope it's me! 🙂 ~~Sammy

LOL...yeah...here is a good chat from online...

online rep: "order from me because you will get your best price. Oh, and if you don't like it...or have any questions, feel free to visit your local brick and mortor store where you can tie up half a day with a commission sales rep with tons of questions about your new phone/service/etc."

I wish VZW would just make it fair across the board. I tell you though. I am hard fast to policies if a customer bought their phone online. If they bought it through me and are sitting at 13 months and their screen goes blank...I will waive that fru fee in a heartbeat. Bought it online, I will hold fast to policy. Phonebook transfer? 10 bucks! Bought it through me? Free!

Customers want cu...

Some people are like robots online I agree... I can't stand that... However, don't judge everyone to be that way... We have rules we have to follow however, Most of us are the types to get to know the customers... you have to understand.. If you come online acting like a child we will try whatever we can to get you off... ONLY because your wasting time and money... Besides that I love my job and enjoy helping people. I like to get on the same level as them...

As far as money goes... This is a busines... If you give everything away for free you will not meet your goal of a profit. Now, I understand they are a little high... That's why I have Tmobile BUT think about it... We buy phones at 300$ and give them out for FREE (with two year agre...

I can understand why you feel that way and it makes sense to me...but only because the "inner-workings" of your industry have been explained to me. Before I learned each store, website, or quiosk is a seperate business, I thought you guys were all like Wal-Mart. It doesn't matter which Wal-Mart store you buy your item from. You can exchange it or return it to ANY Wal-Mart. That's how I thought Verizon stores were...if it had a Verizon logo on it, it was all the same company. I figured if I bought the phone on-line then had a problem later, I could just go in to any Verizon store and get all my problems solved. I now know that it doesn't work that way, but I'm sure there are TONS of people out there who don't realize it. I guess what I ...

WOW!! Your are an awesome customer. Truth is that most reasonable customers do understand that idea once it has been explained to them. However their are those customers that will never get it, regardless of the amount of patience a rep has explaining it. But I do thank you for being one that does.

Nothing like ordering whored out phones online.. then come to my store and want me to activate transfer numbers show you how to use it for free.. NO thanks, we charge for activation and phonebook transfers.. it does give the customer a bad taste of VZW when they sign up, but we also need to stay in business. Support local business or it will come to the age where everything is done online.. no human interaction.

You buy your phone from our store and ill help you set up everything you need, help you warranty, help you with billing. Get it online and CHAT up Sammy to help you with your service!

But most of the time don't indirect stores not offer free activation and do mail in rebates which will take much longer to get back. Also, don't they sometimes have a high deposit requirement. I know walmart has a high deposit set up. Amazon will charge you 200$ if you change your plan. Read the fine print when you order from an indirect store. There not always the best choice. Not saying your's is not set up that way. I just think that online you get everything you need taken care of faster and cheaper and not because I work online but because if customers pay attention they will see that when they order I inform them to do backup assistance from there old phone and inform them to activate it online when they receive the phone. So they can ...

Every massed produced item is going to have several defects, that is always going to happen. But from owning the EnV2 and selling the EnV2 I can honestly say it is one of the best Verizon offers, IMO. The EnV2 has been an excellent phone. The battery life is above average and I have yet to have people complain about the signal strength or voice quality of the phone either. Now one common complaint I get is that the chrome around the front chips easily, but honestly I had the phone for over two months and I have yet to have any chips or scratches. I hope this helps you in your decision making!

sammy4455 and SEM, I appreciate the input. I'm glad to hear that the EnV2 is a good choice. I have a while before I can switch so there might even be other phones out by then, but if I were doing it today I would get that phone.

I just recently signed up with Verizon after the past year with USCC.

I can tell you that my RWC, Reuben, was outstanding. He is a credit to your company. He understood that we had some cash flow problems and totally worked with us. We walked out of that store with two phones and a service plan with no cash whatsoever.

Because he was so awesome, we broke our necks getting back there when our checks came so that we wouldn't let him down.

We signed up and got the Chocolates. These were silly. I came from a Blackberry 7130e, which is ridiculous in itself, but a Chocolate was just plain silly. I kept dialing stuff with my chin, exiting out of stuff accidentally, etc. I was trying not to get another Blackberry, but after I saw t...

I have worked for vzw for years and can tell you that just about every phone has had some kind of issue. From the bottom end economic phones to the most expensive pda/smartphone, every phone has something that can potentially go wrong.

Also, keep in mind that many people on the forums will tell you that you've made a poor choice no matter what.

I believe your EnV2 choice is a solid one. yes, they do tend to have the chrome chip off the sides. yes, they do tend to lock up and or power cycle at random. Comparitively speaking, you've made a good selection. i carried the V (phone right before the EnV 1) and it was one of the better phones i have had throughout the years... and trust me, i have had a lot of phones.

enV2 is the best phone in terms of overall funtionality and user navigation. However, I noticed that the reception kind of dropped off from the enV to enV2.
