LG VX-6100's signal
- Signal indicator would fluctuate from 5 to 0 bars while sitting on my desk in view of a tower. (Yeah, the number of bars are only a general indicator of signal strength, but they were absolutely meaningless on this phone).
- Dropped calls all over the place.
- All of a sudden, the other party would not be able to hear me.
- Choppy audio.
- Coming out of the subway or when removed from the metal safe deposit locker at my gym, the phone would not regain digital service. It would recover to analog but I could...

I honestly don't know. Verizon takes the stand that there is nothing wrong with this phone, so be prepared for a fight. It was a tech from LG's CS number that advised me to return it while I was within 15 days because he couldn't assure me that firmware update was going to address it and didn't want me to be stuck with it. Good call on his part...
yep, exactly what i figured. i have to find a way to prove to them that there are problems with it. thanks for the reply.
But *all* LGs bad? Dunno 'bout that... the VX-7000 is a highly regarded and well-reviewed phone. Maybe LG just can't do trimode well.
I prefer Samsungs and Motos myself (now that my friend has a V265 that's doing well for her), but I'm not going to rule out LGs entirely. Though after hearing about everyone's probs with the 6100, I'm certainly going to be more careful around them.
My LG Vx7000 has been flawless for me in terms of signal and sound quality. I had the same exact problems with my "beloved.....NOT" Motorola T-730. It would go analog for no reason, you'd have to power cycle it to get it back to digital, I would drop calls frequently in my home for no reason. Now with my VX-7000 none of this happens and I welcome the change from my bad experience with Motorola. There's going to be something quirky with all phones and brands so the poster previous to your said to "stay away from all LG phones" was a bit too jaded in his/her comment.
I live in Omaha and travel to Lincoln (there's no Verizon service in Lincoln) quite a bit and I've never had trouble with "Extended Network" service there, volume or calls in low signal areas between the two cities.

The last post questioned the signal strength of LG's VX-6100 phone. I'd like to know what owners of that phone think of its ability to capture and hold a signal, especially in comparison with other Verizon phones, trimode or digital.
