I have the 8830 for Verizon and I just looked at my battery and I noticed that there is a pink line in the middle of the white box on the battery. Does that mean I have water damage?? If so, can I get a new battery and if I encounter problems later on I'm okay?? Thanks

The thin pink line in the middle with white bars above/below is absolutely normal. The entire patch becomes pink/red when exposed to water. You're good to go!

Thanks for the help ptg06!!!

sunnythetank:

I just got back from Spain a week ago and used my blackberry there. What you have to do is get a SIM card from verizon (if you don't already have one) and once you get the SIM card you have to call Verizon and give them the number on the SIM Card. And a day before you go to Spain you will need to call Verizon and they will activate your Global features. I had the 64.99 unlimited data plan. But if you don't use it the whole month they reimburse you. Also while in Spain it is 1.29 a minute to talk, so i didn't talk very often.

Please let me know if there are anymore questions.

I would just buy an unlocked phone and a prepaid SIM card when you're in Spain. It's bound to be much cheaper than paying roaming fees with Verizon or any domestic carrier.

What he means is: In SOME cases, buying a prepaid phone in the destination country would be cheaper to use than going the SIM card route with Verizon. I've seen a $60 pre-paid SIM/phone combo that'd give you between 30-120 minutes for int'l calling, though I'm not sure as to their availibility in Spain. Either way you go, I'd use it VERY lightly.
Good luck!

You don't get charged if the phone is on. If you're making a phone call, you'll be charged out the wazoo. I'm not sure what the roaming fees in Spain are for Verizon, but I'm sure it's at least $1.50/min.
