*Disclaimer: I've been sitting back and observing the plethora of trollin by a certain character...no name dropping but it it sounds like DD2709..this lost soul is just looking for a friend 😳. But back to the matter at hand (no trolls allowed)

This is a great deal on Verizon's behalf. They're aquiring 13 million more customers to add to their current 67 million. Alltel has had a great network here in the southeast (ATL) and their reputation is good. Regardless of the "My Circle" plan, I personally know several people who have Alltel that were excited to join Verizon. Look at all the perks: free backup assistant, vz navigator, exclusive & an enormous catalog of music (downladable over the air), cool phones (venus, voyager, glyde, sna...

i find this thread hilarious.....

i guess lets start with the begining

your network is HUGE i must agree but its obvious that u are not looking at the BIG picture ....
your network is only the size of USA .....
how many world phones does verizon currently have ?
exactly my point .... none till last year and even that u have to have a SIM card slot for your phone ....why u ask
its because GSM is EVERYWHERE.....

our network has and always will be GLOBAL

You CANNOT say that even after a merger like alltel ..... so your gonna back pedal finally change all the alltel towers over so they are digital ... YOUR STILL NOT GLOBAL!

i like verizon as a company ... they get at&t's leftovers once they wear out a phone for 9 months.....

I think you overestimate the number of people that travel overseas.

Yes, there are some, but not enough be be harpin on the "global coverage" song.

i disagree ...

i am in the banking capital right now and about 18% travel monthly overseas plus mostly every foreigner that is in america have an unlocked GSM phone and don't wanna pay for a new one let alone aren't here long enough to do a contract
we have a certain market cornered is how i see it
but don't take my word for it ...

I would suspect most foreigners don't travel here.

I also don't belive you represent the majority of everyday person in the US.

i never said TRAVEL..... i said IN america ... meaning they live here and work here

and i don't represent the majority of everyday person in the US ?

that makes no sense

i see and meet people with different needs everyday ....

i have been in sales for many many years now
im not saying i am Dr Phil but im very capable of seeing things in different perspectives

as in this one .... there are more people from overseas in america that are aware of the greatness of GSM ....
thats simply was i was saying

Traveling overseas is a non-issue for 95% of cell subscribers. And if you do travel alot, many times its cheaper to just buy an unlocked phone and then use prepaid SIM cards. Im not gonna use GSM here in the states just so I have the capability to take my phone to Europe if I go on vacation or business. I would rather have CDMA in the states. GSM has god awful sound quality and att's network just isnt as strong as Verizons

VZW is a US carrier- they never said that they were the carrier of the world. When AT&T says more bars in more places, it sure isn't only counting the US, it is global GSM and that does not matter to the Avg Joe living and working in the US. We want a carrier that can provide us with quality service where it truly matters...right here in the United Sates.

If you travel to Europe all of the time, then make the choice that is right for you. VZW does have global phones that work just as well if not better as other carriers phones.
Bottom line is that is each customers choice and they should base it on what works best for them, not on what you or I think.

Which Cell company is selling unlocked phones in the US? I just can't wait to get the next Samclone phone either

I tell my customers who are going overseas wait and get one there. It saves them money and the per minute charges are lower. Unless you like paying international roaming rates.
