A Die-hard Sprint Fanboy Who Thinks the Merger Will Be Good Thing

Okay, I admit it, I'm a Sprint fanboy, and not ashamed; but now that I have everyone's attention, here's WHY I think the merger will be good:

First, for you guys, it obviously will increase your coverage and reception while on your own network, not to mention your free M2M community. "My Circle" will no longer be necessary, since practically everyone will be in it then anyway. No more roaming for Alltel customers, either!

It will be good for the rest of the carriers for the following reasons:

AT&T:
Their merger proved that despite initial churn and integration problems, they found their way and held the top spot for four years. Now, they will again be forced into the #2 role, thereby requiring them to try harder than ever for thei...

Maybe I should start my own second acct? 😁

The problem is roaming is already a non issue with most who chose Alltel in the first place. They could have chose a National carrier. You assume they did not have a choice. If I did not travel much I would choose a regional as well as they have better prices. Now they are FORCED to pay more for what they already decided they did not need.

I have not read of ONE post anywhere including HoFo where anyone complained about My Circle. In fact they are mostly hoping Verizon will not eradicate that plan. This is not theoretical like you make it out to be. These are real users.

There is no benefit to having 80 million people on the network for those who only speak with the same handful. Its beneficial to th

Verizon made it difficult for ordinary customers to leave. The intimidation of having to learn a phone out of a book again is scary enough for the missives who are used to the same GUI on different phones.

Verizon is for the common man. Makes calls, Don;t have to learn anything new, could care less about having more than one phone, thinks the only source for a phone is the Carrier, Deosn't mind paying for services because he doesn't read or care enough to realize he doesn't have to pay for some.

Verizon is easy...as is Apple. most people like easy. Who's surprised at the kind of success that appeals to those who don't care to pick up a book and enrich themselves now and then.

There's a whole lot of towers they won't have to build in a large area to deploy service for all those licenses they got in the auction.

That is such a horrible asimotion' all AllTel customers chose it over Verizon. Verizon can't sell zervice where it doesn't have service, its own digital service and no roaming agreement, its been stayed that 17 percent is overlapping, the rest is only AllTel.

That means in 83 percent of their service space Verizon doesn't sell its service, so the overwhelming majority don't have a choice. The only way would be to set up service in a Verizon coverage area then move out of network to get Verizon service or be in those few areas where both Verizon and AllTel have coverage.

For claiming to know so much you know so little. I hope you can follow what I was saying champ!

Judging from the apparently superior Customer service Alltel customers enjoy in the South East over Verizon Perhaps they should let go of some Verizon employees and bring on the Alltel CSEs.

Perhaps the ATT fanbois should worry about themselves. ATT usually loses to Verizon in the customer service surveys. Oops! 😉
