Curve Reception

For years, I have had to keep phones with AT&T and Verizon, because Verizon had no coverage in my town but AT&T had no coverage where my daughter lives. Last weekend, Verizon finally got coverage in my town. Although I know you can't directly compare bars on phones for signal strenth, nonetheless Verizon's signal is not quite as strong as AT&T's in my house (it is fine everywhere else). With a 3 year old Motorola flip phone, I go between 0 and 1 bar with some static in some parts of the house. I want to ditch AT&T and go with Verizon and have considered getting the Curve. Would it have as good reception as the Motorola? If not, do you have any other PDA phone suggestions?

The Curve has great signal strength....now some will argue that nothing beats Motorola for RF, but I don't agree. Having owned many many verizon phones, I say give the Curve a shot you'll not be disappointed.

The curve has top notch reception. My apartment gets awful reception and I'm able to carry a full conversation without a problem in there and maintain a couple of bars at all times. I came from an HTC touch and I hardly had any reception at all along with my samsung glyde. It's worth the money. Great phone

Gunny,
My wife got the pearl to replace the E815 and it's rf isn't as good as my Razr or the Env2. Do you think the Curve is better? She's been fighting with mediocre coverage at her office, and never had a problem with other phones.
Thanks,
Jeff

I never used the Pearl so I can't really comment, but then again I thought the ENV2 had horrible reception. The Curve is exceptionally strong, she just might have better luck with it. location location shrug 😉

I've used only Motorola phones for a long time because of the reception quality. I got a Curve when they came out and I can tell you the reception on the Curve is every bit as good as any Moto I ever used, if not a little better. I don't think you'll regret the move.

I second that! BB's are known for good reception and this phone is no different.

That's good to hear, I was getting my mom a curve and was a little worried about reception, my Pearl isn't the best in that department. It gets about as good of reception as my 8600 did. Not that great but it still works fine for me, I kind of expected it since there is so much more going on with the phone, typically with PDA/Smartphones reception falls to the wayside.
