The only way right now is through invitation only. They were discussing a link on the site but it has never really happened yet.

I've used it twice (for roughly the same reason)...one representative was decently helpful and actually typed instead of using cut and paste. The second representative wasn't helpful at all and didn't take any ownership...just tried to pass it off.

The representatives come and go. There are those that are there for the pay check and those who actually try to help out. It really depends on your issue and if the rep has had training with it. ๐Ÿ˜

Some reps are better than others, and then some are just there for the sale. I just wished sometimes that customers could understand that we are trying to help them. ๐Ÿ™„

ditto; a friend of mine, hearing impaired, talked with one about the retail price of an aircard, and the schmuck gave her 4 phone numbers, NONE of them TTY, and only after prompting, would the guy give her a retail price. he then ended the conversation himself; didn't ask if we needed any more help.

I wish the online reps would stop with this statement,

"sure...sign up and get the phone. If you don't like it, then go to a Verizon Wireless retail store and find a phone you like and switch it out."

How about this?

"There is a Verizon Wireless retail store right at ... If you are unsure if you would like the feel of a phone then go to the store and a rep would be more then willing to find the right phone for you."

Well, there's a problem with that, the information you were given was wrong. If you order the phone online, it can only be returned through Customer Care because of the price difference between online and stores. We honestly do not have as much access as customers assume we do, so we can't tell you what store to go to. All you have to do is go to a locator link. I wished we had more access, but at the same time, that would make our job more customer service rather than sales.

i used it once cause it came up. i was expecting a little more than a yes or a no. mybe you should be more customer service online then sales you might sell more when give the impression you care what is happening. im not saying that you should help them on issues about my phone. however if they are a little confused about the fone features y not help them

Customers love to tell someone how to do their job. Its great. Maybe if they worked at a call center they'd know the feeling.

I'm going to be honest here - I and my entire training class was trained for weeks about junk we never use including how cell phone towers work, and since I haven't gone over that in months, I don't remember any of it.

The other thing were were trained in was how to sell.

So a lot of times, especially if you're talking to a newbie, we know the same if not less than you. It takes time on the floor to learn those things.

๐Ÿคจ Do you work for a third party or direct for VZW? Only reason I ask is the corp store by my indirect location routinely takes back online purchases

Because telling you to go to a store loses our sale.

And even if we don't GET the sale, it shows we tried.

Yes, there are a select few that really are there just for a pay check. Personally, I use the copy and paste phrases only when I am slammed myself.

All I wanted to know was if I could change to the premium plan but then have my second line not. I read somewhere you can do that. So instead of two lines for one thirty it would be two for one ten. The lady was confused, took forever to type back, and still didn't know. I called verizon and the rep told me yes in like ten seconds.

I would like to point out a couple of things.

Firstly, the copy/paste responses are not meant to irritate our customers or sound impersonal. Although I try to avoid using them as often as possible, we do chat with up to three folks at a time. If you want very personalized attention, the best times to chat are early in the morning or very late at night because that's where we're less likely to be overwhelmed. The automated responses help us to make sure that we have consistant and correct information - sometimes it gets crazy and I have accidentally mixed up my customers many times. The only thing worse is when I have to type up the answer to "How much do Blackberry plans cost?" fifty times an hour and two other customers are trying to...

how some of the customers would change if they spoke with us face to face?

For some reason, because they can't see us, they have a free-for-all at us and treat the chat like it's a joke.
