Blackberry 8830 Technical issues/ VZW Tech support no help
Im hoping somebody can help me!!
For the last 2 months I have had ear piece issues,Let me explain what I mean by ear piece issues, when im on the phone the voice coming in from the ear piece either drops off or gets so low you cant hear the other person. I contacting VZW tech support, and now on my 4th 8830 unit, I had 3 refurbs and 1 new unit, and still have the same ear piece issue. I contacted Blackberry Tech support who said this is not a known issue,and this was the first they are hearing of it, they did suggest to the VZW tech that was on the phone, should remove me completely and then put me back in the system sometimes this helps clear out any garbage on the servers, VZW was supposed to complete that but still no luck.

The 8830 ear piece speaker is crap, it is a known problem that's why verizon can't fix it. Sry to say it will not get any better, you could wait for the Curve and hopefully they fixed this very know issue, verizon testing my ass 🙄

The phone could use a better earpiece, but I have never experienced the issues that you are having and I have been using the phone for a little over 4 months. That seems really weird that 4 units had the same problem. Are you sure its not just you moving the phone to different placements in/around your ear while talking?

Exactly the phone could use a better ear piece, and you've stated that in previous post. You've had enough verizon phones to known that is not up to par Chris. I know you own the phone and would take it as a personal assault to your equipment, but it wasn't! My friend has the 8830 with verizon, and when I have called him it always sucked even when calling with the 8830, he returned it after several attempts like the OP has been going through.

The main problem with the ear piece in my opinion is that it is hyper sensitive to user movement. THe earpiece is fine if you can keep it still. I would like a better solution from blackberry on the earpiece...but I still impressed with the overall usability of the phone.
Hopefully the curve will improve on some of these user concerns.

Everyone on this post is speaking as if it has been confirmed that the BB Curve will be available on VZ Wireless? Did I miss something? Has it been confirmed and when is it due to be available?

It's in testing right now and has pretty much been confirmed. It will be coming, hopefully by May. No date has been set however for a vzw release.
