Apparently T-Mobile can afford to offer really inexpensive service because they don't spend any money on network security...

That hacker out in California certainly figured out how to GET MORE.

Well at least we caught the guy and his sorry butt is in jail. We are taking very good care of the customers that were affected-There's no telling how many others may be out there working for other companies, too...we just don't know about it...don't be so nonchelant about it, it's a very serious thing.

Just as I gasped (and imagined every crackpot hacker attempting to hack into your system) I read the P.S. Possibly the funniest thing I've read in a long time. Thanks!

That 59.99 for 500 minutes includes the 2nd line. A family share plan with the new wording is two lines. Each additional after the 1st and 2nd is only 9.99. Actually the same for 2 phones with more minutes... and a savings for any over 2.

These new prices plans aren't a bad thing most people just think they're bad because they don't fully understand them. The prices for those family share lines cover the first 2 lines, then each additional line is 9.99. So 3 lines now costs you 69.98(59.99 + 9.99) for 500 minutes instead of 79.99(39.99 + 20.00 + 20.00) for 400 or 500 with the bonus 100 minute promotion. Cingular requires that your primary be at least 59.99 and that's only on the first line. And if anyone cares Push-to-Talk is going to be "rereleased" in early Feb.

To get one of the new plans, would it extend your existing contract? If so, by how much? Would it affect the date on which you're elligibe for New Every Two?

These are questions for customer service if I've ever heard. ;)
Yes, they will extend your contract - term would be for 1 year or 2 years, whichever you choose. {keep in mind that if you have more than one year left on your existing contract you cannot do a 1 year renewal as it would effectively shorten your contract term}. And no, upgrading your pplan will not change your eligability date for upgrade/NE2 if you're not upgrading equipment at the time of the pplan upgrade.

Thanks for the answer. Your answer, though, makes me wonder why a customer would choose to extend his contract for two years if a one year extension is also an option. Is there any circumstance under which a two year extension is preferable? Also, does the extended term of the contract begin on the date you start on the new plan, or does it begin on the date of expiration of your current contract (which is a later date)?

The new plan contract end date is 1 or two years from the date the pplan change is made. The old end date does not matter. Most customers choose a 2 year contract because as long as you are on them you get the NE2 you were discussing. In addition, at the start of service, a 2 year contr equipment proce from VzW is $50 lower and the activation fee is $15 instead of $35 (1 year).

I think the new plans are pretty nice. My previous plan was:

(5/04)59.99 800 America's Choice Familyshare Primary
20.00
20.00
20.00 = 119.99

New plan 79.99 1000
free (included in primary)
9.99
9.99 = 99.97

save $20 on 200 extra minutes! 😳

Should i wait til i'm a year in to my old plan to switch over? so i only have one year on the new contract. thanks for any input
