Samsung or Audiovox on VZW??

Just switched over to VZW from t-mobile due to my company. Went out right away and purchased a Samsung a650, what a disapointment compared to my moto v300 on t-mobile.

Bought thru Costco and the only other VZW phones they carry in my price range is the Samsung a670 or the Audiovox 8910.

My current a650 is going to get returned, about 18 hours stand-by and about 20 mins of talk and the battery needs recharging...ridiculous, had a similar problem with VZW several years ago....chewing up the phones battery.

Does a tri-mode phone (a650) chew up more battery than a fully digital phone a670 or 8910?

Whats the better choice here Audiovox or Samsung?

Samsung is the better choice, a650 does have the lowest battery life out of the three you you presented, however, it's not low due to it being a tri-mode. The tri-mode switches into analog only on a last resort basis and the baterry is use muched more when in analog.

Would you get the a670 or should I keep the a 650? I don't NEED a camera phone, but it would be a fun option, I really would like an outside lcd. Will I really be able to get reception in other areas with tri-mode? My moto v300 gets better reception then the a650.

I would get the a670 over the a650. Reception should be the same unless you travel to analog areas and those are far and in between

I'm not sure how the newer phones par out, but when I had VZW My first phone was an Audiovox CDM-8100. I LOVED it. I think it was the best cell phone I've ever had with any company.
Next I upgraded to the MOT V120, and that phone was nothing but garbage. Low battery life, antenna was forever breaking off (They got to know me by name at the store, because at least once a week I took it in and after paying my $15 service charge a few times in a row to have it fixed they eventually just started to do it for free)
Then, my last phone with VZW was the LG VX-4400. I must say I enjoyed this phone tremendously, but I'll still stick to my origional statement in that overall, I liked my audiovox the most.

I don't know VZW's lineup in a technica...
