Why won't Verizon let their authorized retailers do NE2? The closest corporate store is 45 mins away in a busy mall! ( I hate malls)

Too much fraud & stupidity on the part of the authorized retailers. Not all of them fall into this category, in fact, I know several that are actually very honest & do a better job than some of the corporate employees. But that, in a nutshell, is why VZW doesn't let agents do NE2.

Actually a better explanation of why authorized retailers may not participate with the New Every Two program relates to the equipment itself. The NEWE2 is a benefit VZW offers directly, such is the same as the pricing at our corporate stores. Authorized retailers are "authorized" to sell VZW approved equipment w/service. The authorized agents purchase their equipment independent of VZW and in most cases already sell the equipment for less than VZW. It doesn't benefit an authorized agent to offer the credit since the majority of the $$ they make is based on the cost of the equipment & new activations. Upgrades are not as lucrative for the agents and the agent would be directly absorbing the cost of the NEWE2 credit.

the way our store works is we take 50 bucks off the phone then count the $50 rebate as part of it. it works pretty good most of the time.
