How to get out of Verizon's contract
I know this is ridiculous but does anyone know if there is a way to get out of Verizon's 2 year contract? I am in love with the iPhone....thanks!

the only way without paying an Early Term Fee. is to find someone you know who is looking to sign up new service w/verizon and call customer service to do a Liability change. I'm sorry you are in love w/Iphone. no MMS bad word editing capabilities. I would wait for the Touch to launch with Verizon much better phone same web capabilities. good luck.

Better yet, maybe he is tired of waiting for year old equipment that is sold at a premium.. hell please tell me why the 755p is $399 when you can get it on sprint for $299. Aren't they the same phone.

As for 3g and MMS, I have had a cell phone for 10+ years and have never sent or received a photo and I can't even get 3g serve where I live. Not to mention I have GPS in my car so why do I need it on my phone.

actually looking at the website the phone is 449.99 with a 50$ mir so it would be 199.99$ if you were NE2 eligable.

what is so great about the iPhone? VZW has tons of phones that do the same things as the iphone on a much better network, with better cust service, better upgrade policys for future hot phones, etc.
Check out the BB Pearl2, Samsung I760, LG VX-1000(voyager) to name a few.
If those dont work for you you could get an iPod Touch and a good phone for around the same price as the iPhone, and have a better phone and larger ipod capacity.

Here's the way to get out of a contract w/out paying the ETF w/ VZW:
1.The popular answer in the forum; AOL
2.Death
3.Moving out of VZW's calling area or out of the country
4.Military Duty
#3 is pretty easy- just make up a bill from Kazakhstan with your name on it and you're good to go! 😉

AT&T is now on top of its game. There will NEVER be another quarter in which Vz has more adds than AT&T... The funny (and sad thing, whichever way you want to see it) is that even with all the restrictions on apps, the BREW and GIN rip offs. Verizon only manages to have a little more revenue than AT&T (which by default is more open when it comes to third party applications, BT, phones (unlocked) etc etc... tisk tisk... how sad 😢

i would expect see more differnces in revenue between both. Especially with Verizon that charges for everything. 🙄 Beach got me thinking about how much higher AT&T's revenue would be if they charged for everything just like Vz. But that's not a healthy thought. Yuck! I felt dirty ...

whats ironic about this statement is VZW would of had more net adds then at&t just last quarter were it not for ampd collapsing. as usual you guys get crushed every quarter in churn and retail net adds.

THERE IS ACTUALLY ANOTHER WAY TO GET OUT OF CONTRACT BUT IT IS MUCH MORE DIFFICULT TO DO. IF YOU MOVE TO AN AREA THAT VERIZON DOES NOT HAVE ANY COVERAGE THEY OFFER TO CANCEL THE CONTRACT FOR FREE. THE ONLY THING THEY REQUIRE IS TO FAX A COPY OF A BILL WITH THAT ADDRESS AND YOUR NAME.
