Switched to AT&T after 7 years as a Verizon customer:
Good bye Verizon.
PS: I am not a AT&T sales rap, you can see my posts in this forum, I have always post in Verizon's phone section.
The best thing I like is GSM, the battery life is great, I dont have to use my car charger at all and can use it all day, the EDGE network is faster than EVDO, I can use other phones and use my same sim card, the black berry curve work all over the world. I dont have to go to the calling centers to make phone calls while I am traveling.
Again, I just want to tell people yes there is life after Verizon!!

LOL, now know you are talking out of your ass.
lets see edge is what 120-150Kbps (sorry i dont know exactly) and EVDO REV A is 700 Kbps-1.8 Mbits with burst higher than that.
Too funny

Yeah, I was scratching my head on that one too.
I think he just believed whatever the ATT rep told him, lol.

...not to mention the fact that battery life on GSM phones is WORSE. I know this for a fact because I can turn the Direct Connect portion of my Powersource phone completely off, and the battery lasts TWICE as long. Time based cellular networks hav...

Yeah right. My company gave me a pda that only has EDGE capability. I miss VZW's high speed EVDO so much - EDGE IS IN NO WAY FASTER THAT EVDO AT ALL.
If you really think that's true, then you really have no idea what you're talking about.
Why do people think that I am trying to BS here?
I have a laptop for speed, etc.

He probably was shooting down the theory of some loyalists in this room that say AT&T is no good, that you never get a signal, never be able to make calls, and all that.
I'd agree, ATT doesn't suck EVERYWHERE. Just a lot of the places I've been. 👀
Law of averages says they have to be good somewhere. Even Sprint, who's apparently self-destructing right now, is good some places.
I know this isn't the right forum, but what is your opinion of US Cellular?

Haven't used 'em much personally (except roaming a couple of times in Oregon, where they worked well for me), but the few ppl I've met who were on it (mostly Chicago area) said they liked it.
Their churn rate is okay, definitely not in 'Sprint armageddon' territory. Always good to check that. 😲
They do well in the JD Power call quality surveys for the North Central region. If you live in the upper Midwest, apparently they are one of the better choices.

Hey Shock,
What your opinion on the current presidential administration? 🤣
Probably the worst since Herbert Hoover, and that's sayin' something. That was almost 80 years ago. 😳
The general level of corruption, cronysim and incompetence is pretty amazing. Even my dad, who's a diehard Reagan Republican who voted for Bush twice, now curses both him and Cheney out on a regular basis whenever they come on the news. He's not voting Republican in the next election.
My mom hates him less, but she's one of those super-Christian ppl who believes anything Pat Robertson says. But even she doubts him now.
I think the Republican party is going to crash and burn even harder in the '08 elec...

I am also in the Chicago area. What area are you in? I'm in the western suburbs, around Yorktown mall.

Exactly, my friend: some! It's sad that at&t works hella better where I am than Sprint (Mesa, Arizona).
www.handango.com is leet
this is somewhat off the current topic, but other than the extra apps available for Windows Mobile, what are the benefits that you see of having it?
I was given a T-Mobile Dash with WM6 on it from my company and the thing is so slow and has a tendency to crash. I've asked my employer if I can get the BB Curve and they are going to see if they can do it. But basically, I was excited to get to use WM6, but after using it, I'm feeling kinda disappointed. What are your thoughts? Since I just got the Dash, I haven't actually used many third party apps (only Jogger - which turns the volume slider into a scroll wheel).
Thanks!
First, I wonder why folks will come to tell the world they are leaving someting such as a cellular carrier. If I decided that I was going to stop buying Grand Cherokees as my vehicle, I don't know that I would go to an automotive forum for Chrysler and go "I've decided that I want to go to a Toyota LandCruiser. I just found that the drivers side heated seats are better and the radio placement is more to my liking...and besides, Toyota sales reps are way cooler than the Jeep guys. So to all you Jeep fanboys..see ya" Really sounds kinda stupid, doesn't it? So, I just don't get the 'I'm leaving' post. If you going, just go. I do hope your experience is good with the new carrier. However, I just ask tha...
