Upgrade and NE2

StoneCrew

I have a question about the new every 2. What good is the new every two if they are already offering a $100 on line discount? For example, I want to purchase the i760 (Well actually the XV6800 but who knows when that will be released). There is a 100 on line discount for that phone. If I log in to my account and try and purchase it with my NE2 discount, it will give me the 100 discount for that, but not the on line discount. Why not give both discounts? I should get the NE2 discount on top of the discounts already being offered, otherwise what is the point for the NE2? Someone else that does not have 2 years can get the same discount?

OK I just talked to a verizon rep online, and she said I could only get 1 $100 discount because it...

so if the 5800 smartphone, which is not a PDA, should somehow see the light of day. I should be able to get both the NE2 and an online discount (if one is offered)?

The rep was a moron, Verizon IS going to releas the 6800, and very shortly, there is a picture, with an ad for it in the new Brochures at the stores.

I just spoke to a rep and asked about upcoming phones and they just aren't allowed to say. You could tell she knew more than she was letting on but it's just a technicality. Sucks. She did say to go on PhoneScoop though. 😉

Its not a matter of being a moron, its a matter of following policy. Unless given permission to do so (like with the NEXT phones) employees cant give information about upcoming devices, and the reps words were correct though. At this time VZW hasnt announced the device release, just mentioned that it was upcoming in a news release. So there are no plans for the exact release and there is always the chance that it will never get through testing ;P I did notice there are some in the wearhouse though... so I think it will be out soon.

I've been reading the I760 thread on HOFO and I can't believe how misinformed people are there. The online discount is the Advanced Data Discount. You are allowed to combine that with your NE2 credit for a total of $200 off. I believe once you log in to your account it will show both discounts on one of the final screens. You have to start the process and go so far before both discounts appear. Also keep in mind that you must get unlimited data to get the online discount (ADD). It shows up by default to new customers because they are requiring them to get unlimited data on the website. If you currently don't have a PDA you don't have unlimited data and that's probably why you are seeing different pricing. Once you choose the device a...

the extra $100 discount online is assuming that you will be going with the unlimited data feature/package. Its called the advanced device discount. If you dont get the data package you dont get the extra $100.

if you are selecting the data package with your upgrade when you log-in with my account and its not giving you both, call CS and have one of them order the phone.

somewhat recent changes in the ne2 program will allow you to get the ne2 $100 + advanced device discount $100 + any rebates as long as you have a combined voice and data plan combo that equals $79.99 or more per month!

so for the i760 right now, if you are ne2 now and the above, you would get $100 + $100 + $50

actually, it says right on the website now, "This online discount cannot be combined with New Every Two® discounts." On the PDA/Smartphone page.

I bought an i760 about three weeks ago on line and I got both the $100 discount and the $100 NE2 discount, plus a $50 mail-in rebate form. Total cost would be $149 plus taxes.

The phone is going back to VZW on Monday. Too many problems. See https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/p_forum.php ?fm=m&ff=1108&fi=1458591

I am hoping the XV6800 comes out by the end of the month.

Thanks for everyones responses. Good thing I waited because I wanted the 6800. I did in fact order it last night, and I got the 100 online discount, the 100 advanced device discount, and the 100 NE2 discount for a total of 199+tax. Hopefully I'll get the 50 rebate, but fine if I don't. I can't believe they finally released that phone!
