Killing Me
Posted this on the Pearl thread so stop reading if you have already seen this;
I went to my local Verizon store and was told they have the Pearl in stock. They not only wouldnt sell it to me but wouldnt even pull one out of the back so that i could look at it. I am an impulse buyer who may have to impulse my way over to ATT. BTW, I have 3 phones and a data card.

Nobody cares if you switch to AT&T. If it works better for you, more power to you.

PDAs/Blackberries cannot be activated on prepay anyway (it might be possible, but its not allowed) so its not like they're going to be interested in selling you a phone that won't work

verizon has rules, just like att has rules on phone releases. If verizon said don't release the phone till the 8th, then maybe this store is going to abide by the rule and wait.
Just wait like everyone else and then go make your impulse purchase. But just like robtheman said, stating that you might port is ridiculous. No one cares if you port for a stupid reason like a verizon rep following the rules.
Act like an adult and be patient. Or if you want your actions to speak volumes. Then move your phone lines over to att and let verizon know how you really feel.

WOW!! You really are going to throw a fit and pay four ETF's because you have to wait three days for your new phone? That sounds logical. Believe it or not there are reasons why you can't get your phone till the 8th like that is the retail release date. The employees of that store cannot sell one of those phones until then so get over it.

I have had people ask me to sell phones to them before the official launch date. I actually did it once (Motorola Q launch). Big mistake. The company knows, and they slap wrists. Release dates are set by marketing for a reason. I don't understand why people think it's ok for us to bend the rules. I can't go to Best Buy and purchase a dvd before the release date; and the rep would be in big trouble if he sold it to me. I fail to see how it is the sales rep's fault for making you play by the rules like everyone else. What makes you so special?

Exactly...sayuncle has waited this long, a few more days won't hurt. But just like the others, use the threat of going to AT&T if they don't get what they want. He isn't going anywhere...just like the others. see ya on 11/8/07 when you get the pearl.

The store at easton is really great. Online and other stores dont like to help costomers. The pearl is crap. If I could I would go to ATT and get the curve. By the way I am a vzw costomer.

ok first of all if they phones are sitting in the inventory room in the back doesnt mean they can sell them to you....when we get inventory in store and theres a release date set on a product we CAN NOT sell the item....because its physically there but not in our system so we can not sell it out when we put the sku in the system the item is not there to be sold.....and another think u think its only the customers that are waiting on the phones....me ane two ppl i work with have been waiting of the pearle for the past 4 months and we can even order it yet.....its being released for consumers as of the 8th but us employees of the comapany dont get the phones till about 2 3 weeks after everyone else......so dont bitch about a release date there...
