What is going on with the "New" push to talk network that they are supposedly re-releasing soon and what about the fones? I ask this because I wonder if i should wait for the release of the network or should i just get a phone now with out all of the features...Also does anyone know if they will have a Camara/Video/Speakerphone/Push to talk phone coming out anytime soon? 😁

VZW better get off their high horse and start thinking about this, Sprint and Nextel are going ahead with a merger.

I actually saw an ad for a phone in Cosmo that was push to talk. The phone is an LG and looks pretty sweet with a speaker up front and push to talk button on top. They even state the pricing of the service on the bottom. But alas - no model number or any info on the phone. I check both Verizon's site and LG's and have not found a thing about it ... interesting ..

That was actually a mistake on Verizon's part, I think. They issued a memo saying to disregard that ad. It's on InfoManager somewhere.

I tested the "new" Verizon PTT. It still took 4 to 6 seconds for the initial connection which is 3 to 5 seconds slower than NEXTEL. I have to admit that they did get the latency down to where its "almost" real time but the connection kept dropping even though we were standing still. The Rep said that we were in a "marginal" coverage area. Whatever that meant as cell calls went thru just fine.

Dont you think that the company better get thier headas out of their butts and wake up...Since i belive the merger of Cingular which happened a while ago verizon has done nothing...Now it is the merger of Nextel and Sprint and they still have nothing...Sprint has horrible service but a decent push to talk service...Nextel has decent service and a astonishing push to talk service and here is verizon...Even fred flintstone has the same verizon phone that ive got...They need to do something because they are slowly gettin passed up...It is like you have all of these people and no way of pleasing them service in rural areas...lol...no such thing...VERIZON WAKE UP!!!!

I do know they have come out with the new and improved Motorola v60p. If you have owned the old one you can go into a storre or go online and have the software upgraded at no charge. We have found theissue that was the fact that when the phone would call out periodically to see if the contactds were still conected or not with the smilely faces. Now instead of sending out a message every 1minute and now it sends the list out every 5 minutes so the battery is not working as hard.
