I finally got a new replacement after all the garbage the VZW store over here gave me for having problems with my 9900 from the gitgo...and now that I just receieved the new one in the mail today, how much will they charge me to transfer my contacts? Also, will they be willing to transfer my pictures/ringtones as well? Or is that non-existent?

If you had your phone replaced due to a manufacture defect then you can transfer the phone book for free. If the phone was replaced because you broke the original phone then it's a $10 fee. Pics cannot be xrd, however, If you had your phone replaced due to a manufacture defect you can download the same ring tone apps to the new phone and get those app charges credited----you don't have to purchase the same ringtone but the application it self from the same company you purchased from originally. Cust service can tell you what to redownload

Thanks for the information...I was hoping I'd be able to get my pix onto the new phone...but I guess that won't be happening. I'll have to take my phone in to get the phonebook transfer done...at least that much is free.

Ah speaking of which, now that I've already activated the replacement handset, will I still be able to transfer my pix from the defective one to my#@vzwpix.com? Or does that have to be activated in order to send? Argh...sounds like the latter...oh well. If there's a way, please let me know, cos I have a few hard-to-replace pix on there.

Thanks again.

Yup, the old phone has to be active to send pix and you can send the pix to an email address. Also, you can activate the old phone your self via my acct on www.vzw.com

Well here is the thing,

The transfer machine if it is the same for corporate as and indirect is called a Cellebrite.

This is owned by an israele company, that charges about $400.00 for the machine, some cost more, then they charge a royalty for every transfer.

There is a counter in the machine, and a pre-paid credits card that has to be reloaded onto the machine.

Many managers track this counter against sales logs to verify that they have the commisions for the transfer to pay the royalty.

So I guess what I am trying to say, is that this is in violation of policy, and grounds for termination, and that although we will bend over backwards for GOOD customers, we won't lose our job over it.

Also that machine takes more like 7 ...

It takes 45 minutes to transfer the phonebook. If wasn't your fault that phone is broken then it's a free transfer and if it's your fault that the phone broke then you pay--what is wrong with that concept?

You don't want to pay for a service in which the service you need is your fault?

It's $15 to transfer your contact list. As far as your pic/ringtones/games, that can not be transfered.

as you can read, the cost of xring a phone book varies per area. In the west (wyoming west) it's $10 for a new phone and free if the replacement was honored due to manufacturer defect.

There is also a program you can download in GIN called back up assistant only available on some handsets. You can see if ur phone has this program by going to vzw.com
