Pearl & Backup Assistant??
I was wondering if anyone knew if the Pearl would be compatible with Backup Assistant? It's really a nice feature to have and saves all the trouble of transferring numbers over...thanks! 🙂

put the numbers on your computer...its a smartphone. You dont need B.U.A. with a smartphone.

Right, but that would mean I would still manually have to type out 250+ contacts to get them on there. I've never had a smartphone so I don't know what's the most efficient way of transferring numbers between them and a regular old cell phone. 😕

Verizon has a machine that can do it for you. They have it at almost all corporate stores. I transferred my LG 8300 contacts to my treo. Then recently I had then move my treo contacts to my att Blackberry that I use for work.
It can be done, and you WILL NOT have to do it manually.

Verizon has a program on the internet called wireless sync you can input your contact information on that program and it will down load to your phone or vice versa. It has contacts and calender and all your emails go to it and then the emails download to your phone. I really like that program.

But I forgot to say that it is for the palm but I think they have the same thing for the blackberry. Call Verizon and check it out.

Wireless sync is for PDAs and a few GIN capable phones. It won't work for a Blackberry. Your best bet is to go into a store to get them transferred. There is normally a $10 charge. Otherwise, if you had a mobile office kit for your old phone, most of them come with Quicklink mobile phonebook. You can save your contacts to your computer, export them to Outlook or Outlook Express and then use Blackberry Desktop Manager to transfer those to the Blackberry.
In your case, I'm guessing the store is the best option.

cool...thank you very much for all your input 🙂

Since no one really outright answered the question, the answer is no. Backup assistant is a GIN(get it now) application so will only work on GIN capable phones. The Pearl being a Blackberry is not GIN capable.

Man I wish people could just answer the questions like that the first time
