Vtext SPAM
I just started receiving spam on my VZW phone. I have never given the address out, so i guess someone is sending it out to random numbers@Vtext.com Has anyone else had this happen? I called customer service and their only solution is to turn off text messaging, which for me is not an option, I uses SMS as often as I actually talk on the phone. Any ideas, questions, comments?
A. Every Verizon Wireless subscriber can register on www.vtext.com and exercise several message blocking methods available there. These include:
1. Block all internet messages
2. Block all email messages
3. Block all messages from a domain (i.e.@domain.com)
4. Block any specific email address (i.e.anyname@domain.com)
1. Your Mobile Number
2. Domain sending the message(s)
3. The Frequency and Quanity (How often and how many)
If the Rep doesnt know wut the MICC or WTDS is, Tell them to look it up in the Department Contact Numbers under "WDTS / MICC (Wireless Data Technical Support)"

Change your number
Tried that too. Set the TXT Blocker at VText.com to "Allow messages sent to my Nickname Only" but the SPAM still gets through.

lol
Should we begin a new thread, are you suggesting?
Awhile back I have had machines calling me and speaking in Spanish with FL area code. I called customer service they couldn't do anything about it. I just ignored the same number and it eventually stopped.

Before I forget, best way NOT to get spam on your cell, be sure to tell your friends NOT to text you from a computer, this helps a lot.
Today I set my TXT Blocking on VText.com to:
Allow Messages sent to My Nickname only. Yes.
Allow Messages sent from Web? No.
The SPAM stopped, but my daughter still texted through to my regular phone number from her contact list. Maybe being on a family plan allows you to do that?

The spam messages were not in Spanish.
