Initial Reaction to V9M

So I just got my V9M in the mail and got the esn activated to my account. I've gotten about 30 minutes of play time with it so far. My first thoughts are mostly about the text messaging system since thats probably what I use my phone the most for. Right off the bat I realize there are no (parenthesis symbols), so no more smiley faces in text messages. Also, I can't seem to figure out how to make iTap the primary entry mode. I hope I'm just blind because it would be awful to have to manually select iTap every time I go to write a message. The phone itself feels and looks really nice. Although it is also very smudge prone and shows fingerprints very nicely. Hope to hear what everyone else thinks about their V9M.

dont you go to message settings>>>then input settings>>>itap...to change to itap permanently.

--its gotta be in there, keep lookin'

And as far as parenthesis go, im sure they are in there, there has to be a symbols section of some sorts. You dont leave off parenthesis in ANY phone, especially a $300 one.

The two issues you have mentioned are extremely basic and I am positive that they are on the phone somewhere.

Ahh yes I did find the parenthesis but still no luck on the permanent itap, I'm sure I'll find it when I get home from work and can sit down with it.

The single most important thing I was looking forward to didn't even make it to the final build: checking text messages on the outer screen. It's definitely pretty, but the giant screen is no different than my A950's if it has the same exact features.

I got mine yesterday also...anyone know how "big" of a micro Sd card I can buy? (Im assuming 2gb) Also, the external speakers arent bad for playing music. As far as the phone is concerned, I love it thus far. It is taller than the v3c, and heavier, but the aesthetics take the cake. Also, it feels more substantial (perhaps due to the weight), but the flip design seems much more solid, and I got about 4.5 hours of "usage time" which is not bad considering how big and bright the external screen is.

It's actually easy: in Messaging menu press Settings (left soft key), then All Msg, Entry Mode, then pick iTAP.

Hope this helps.

True dat.

When it comes to the entire RAZR line, really, everyone fixates on how slim they are... yet they're quite wide and tall for flip phones.

Just not as compact as you'd think.
