Adding text msg

Jenny3687

I currently have text messaging blocked on my phone...

I just upgraded and signed a new 2 year contract a month ago. I want to unblock the text messaging, and add the $10 unlimited texting option to my plan.

Am I able to do this at anytime, or only when I'm elligble for another upgrade?

Thanks.

call CS and tell them to add it and inform them you have a block. Some may not look. The block is not on your phone but on your number. They can remove it anytime you want if you are the account holder!

There is no " $10 unlimited text option "

There is however a $10 unlimted to vzw / 500msgs to non verizon customers though

Please call your local store and have them do it, they will make a comission, and it will help them out.

Also you wont have to wait on hold or go through all the prompts.

Remember, always help your local stores, they are the people in your community and they might be able to spend more money where YOU work at if you spend your money with them.

Must be tough for indirects, directs, and telesales fighting for all those commissions. That's a valid point that you make though.

text is a feature, you can add it whenever you want. and you can change your price plan whenever you want. we base our contracts on your phone number, not your plan or a minimum dollar amount, or a certain phone. thats how you can swap out equipment or change your plan at any time.

yes, you can change your plan anytime you want, but it will affect your contract end date, say your contract ends 05/06/08 if you do a price plan change on 08/15/07 your contract end date will be changed to 08/15/08, but you're correct in stating that a feature may be added or removed at any time with regard to your contract.

I honestly dont know where you get your information from, but I hate changed my plan so many time right now I am counting about eight times so far and they told me that it does nothing with your conract and I was straight foward with them the first time I did it and they said that it would not effect my contract end date. And I just called and checked with Verizon and Verizon Online and it does not affect it. My contract end date is still 6/11/08 the same day I signed it a year ago.

It does not add time to your contract unless you are below a year in your current contract.

I received that information from Verizon's training website, you see I work for Verizon as a "Wireless Consultant" so I'm required to know things like that. I do price plan changes on a daily basis and every single time I do a price plan change (and I do mean EVERY single time) there is an adjustment made to the contract end date, now this doesn't affect upgrade dates (unless you do something with a family plan, like change over to one and activate a new line as the primary line, then you'll lose your new every two and it will be transferred to the phone number that is now your primary line on a family share). So either you're being told your upgrade date, or they are lying to you.

As someone mentioned in a different post, a price plan change only affects contract end date if you have less than a year left on your contract, it seems I need to brush up a bit, sorry for the misinformation everyone.
