What is it with returning phones??

graber

Maybe a Verizon rep can help me here. Why is it when I returned the phones to the warehouse after finding out I do not have good service where I live they are giving me the run around and can't seem to find them. I have the Fed Ex numbers saying they were returned on Nov. 3, but they have not cleared somehow and will not credit my account. So now I have a $650 bill from Verizon and they say they have no number to contact the warehouse to see if they have been returned and returned in good order. WHAT IS WITH THAT?? So they make it my problem to find out if they have been returned -- how am I going to do that. This is so much a bunch of bull that I can't believe it. I had a chance to return to Verizon in the future when a cell site gets put ...

Yes,
If you used FedEx to return the phones then you can track them and even get the name of the person who signed for them and the date they were signed for.

On the phone & accessory return policy that was provided with your package, it states that your refund for returned equipment 'can' take up to 6-8 weeks.

It is absolutely true that there is not a number to contact the warehouse. If you provide a Telesales Support Representative with the FedEx return tracking number, they can send a credit request form to the warehouse.

But to be honest with you, you will probably receive a refund before the warehouse ever responds to that credit request form.

They have many packages being returned to the warehouse for returns, exchanges, defective equipment, etc. I'm sure you can understand that it takes a bit of time for the staff there to shuffle through everything.

They have to determine wheth...

Pay the bill with your credit card, then call the credit card company and dispute the charge. That way Verizon gets their money and you don't get hit with late chareges. Then, if Verizon fails to credit your account, you can prove to the credit card company that the phone was returned and they will take the charge off your bill. The credit card company then dukes it out with Verizon.

...or save yourself the hassle and wait a week before the warehouse actually issues a credit for it....

My recommendation was based on past experience returning phones with AT&T. They claimed they didn't get it, even though I had FedEx proof that they did. Since my cell bill gets dinged from my credit card every month, I covered my butt and let them know what was going on with cell account.

Better safe than sorry!

I just had this fun experience in August. The warehouse has your returns. They will, eventually, process it. The problem is that if the refund wasn't processed until AFTER your current bill was generated. It will show up on the next statement.

In the meantime, because you haven't paid the amount owed, Verizon will charge you $5 for late payment on your next bill.

As you can probably see from my post & others this is a pretty common complaint. Funny, I am 100% sure they have more sales than returns, they get you the phone and take your money within 2 days almost every single time, yet when you try to get your $$ back it's another story. If they can take your money and get the equipment out in a timely fashion-no problem, why such a hassle on the return? I don't get it. I am not typically a complainer & usually have more patience but there is something seriously wrong with this scenario.....

the only thing wrong would be not returning the equipment in the 15 day period, not returning the equipment to the place of purchase, buy at radio shack?return to radio shack.you pay cash for the phone, you get cash back, you pay with credit card,we refund the amount back to the credit card?i would think it would be to difficult.

here's the best part, return in new or new like condition.you just got a accessory and you are going to the store to return it and you get out of your car and drop it on the ground, who is responsible for that?the person who dropped it obviously.

warranties only cover manufactures defects "cause due to workmanship or craftsmanship or material defects "from the manufacture.your dog ate you phone doe not fall under th...

First of all I dont blame you for your frustration and would be frustrated myself... Sorry your being given such a hard time as of a future with wireless My choice is cingular they would have you return it back to the store and the credit would have been given back to you.... I hope you get your credits back sooner then later and there is a number that they have for the wharehouse and should have checked on that for you... Now that would be good customer service... Good luck to you and Cingular ROCKS!!!!!

IF you followed all the proscribed proceedures for returning the phone and are still getting the runaround I would review the firm's core principles and values here http://investor.verizon.com/profile/verizon_p romise.html and if you indeed still believe they messed up then I would contact

Dennis F. Strigl
Executive Vice President and President and CEO - Verizon Wireless Joint Venture office. His assistant will help untangling the mess.

It is challenging to get connected to the top offce holders but here is where to start.
