It's pretty cool looking phone. I like the iPod-like scroll wheel and the haptics are a nice touch.

Also feels smaller and sleeker than the 8500.

I have heard some complaints about the Bluetooth and reception though.

I played around with the phone and was pleasantly suprised. I haven't used the phone or the bluetooth though for any calls. It's amazing how the curved edges make it feel smaller and look so much sleeker.

I've had mine for a few weeks now, and in general, I like it a lot.

the screen is nice (equal to my old cdm-9900)
the scroll wheel is nice
the speakerphone is ok (old phone was better)
keypad is ok (a bit small for my fat fingers)
form factor is _GREAT_ (no antenna stub, YAY)
reception is good
battery life is very good
GUI is ok to good
bluetooth is good
sound quality of music is good to VG.
buying my own industry standard memory card that I can put my own music on without paying a verizon tax? PRICELESS!

_BUT_

Thanks for the info...it was really helpful. I didn't like the first chocolate...but I might try to get my hands on this one. I might use it periodically as a music player more than a phone. I have an enV now, which I love, but that phone looks pretty sleek.

Is there a seperate volume control on the headphones? I'm not familiar with that product but that seems like that might be a problem.

I like the design of the phone. The menu and software looks good too. I'm hesitant to sell the phone though. The 8500 took a few months before they started being replaced like crazy. I'm going to reserve judgement on this phone for another 2-3 months.
