Who here ditched their land line for cell only? and how is it working out for you? Do you miss your land line, etc?

I dumped mine 5ish years ago, but recently had to get one again because of the place I moved to is gated and to let people through the front gate you have to "buzz" people in by using your landline when they reach the gate.

I hate it, cost me an additional $25 a month (no caller ID, no call waiting, just the basic), Id love to get rid of it again.

Nice the women and I try to keep are expenses down, I'm more comfortable living below our means, and stashing the rest. We purchased our home for 150 and it meets our needs great. no kids two saint bernards 🙂 I love the ocean and one day would love to live near it.

Thats great, kids suck. 🤣 I always pull out, dont want any of them bastards running around.

Where I live the housing cost are way over priced, I have friends/family in other parts of the country, and for what you can buy a modest home in my area ($225-$250k), you can buy a mansion in other parts. Its completely outta wack, I expect a correction in the next year or two.

The housing boom here is redicilous, it just started in the past 10 years. I want to move outta here in the next few.

Yeah, I 'cut the cord' back in 2004.

Haven't missed it at all, VZW service has been great. I also have a cable modem, so its not like I need even local landline service to get dsl (though I think 'naked dsl' is coming to my area, or is already here).

Landlines just seem pointless these days, unless you can't get good wireless service where you're at. The only issue is maybe if can't call 911 on your cell phone and get through quickly... I hear that's still a problem in some areas?

DSL that doesn't require phone service. I have it at my apt. Also known as Dry Loop.

Sounds nice. Is it like a package, or tap or something?

Like if I wanted Verizon DSL but also wanted to cancel my home phone, would it be the same rate?

Usually not. I tried to get naked DSL at one of my stores and it wasn't worth it. AT&T has to offer it now but they make the rates so high that you wouldn't want it. The install was like hundreds of dollars and the monthly rate was nearly as high as having phone service with it.

Dumped mine for VOIP. I like the better international dialing rates (and too lazy to use a calling card)

Unfortunately my Sunrocket won't last much longer so considering whether it's better just to go with at&t mobility's international dialing plans

I ditched my land line off and on about 3 years ago. At one time I had my celly cell + internet voip phone but it was an extra $29.99/month. I miss the fact that the battery on my land line lasted longer then 3 hrs a day without recharge.

I would never ditch the landline. I need a number to give out other then my cell for BS stuff and businesses. Besides, For $20 a month its worth having the line for the Xbox and cable TV anyway.
