Upgrade Program Updated 6/1

VzwRsR

Jun 2, 2007, 7:36 AM
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this or not. But as of yesterday customers can now upgrade four months early on a two year. And two months on a one year. This counts as a standard ugrade and New every two can be applied.

-Cheers

I wouldn't count on it being pushed up to 20 months from 22 months for NE2 until the OP posts some conrete information

I went to the VZW store in Union Square (NYC), and a representative there mentioned receiving an emailing saying the upgrade period was pushed up to 20 months. I haven't seen the physical proof myself, but that's what he said.

I'm in the northeast, too. Philadelphia market to be specific. Is this a direct only thing? I'm indirect and can't find anything in IC about it and haven't received any sort of emails yet. Can you PM me with any info on where I can find this? Thanks in advance!!

If you are a vzw employee......check your m&p titled "Equipment Replacement Programs and Processes"

It says that as of today, customers are elig. for both Standard upgrade and NE2 two months before their actual eligibility date. They are going to adjust the dates in the system at a later time. So if you see someone in month 20 or 21 of their 2 year contract, process the upgrade as a manager's exception.

Why hasnt VZW matched Cingular's policy of offering upgrades after 18 months? Seems like a no-brainer to me........

What's the point, Verizon's Upgrade Policy is on a 2 yr contract of $59.99+ you can upgrade @ 12 months @ 2 yr discount pricing + $20 processing fee, @ 20 months of 24 month contract you can upgrade @ 2 yr discount + New Every Two Discount (either $50 or $100 off). I'm not sure Cingular/ATT Policy is or fees

Yeah there is no need to match Cingular on the 18 months because Cingular has no eqivalent to NE2 and they also charge and $18 upgrade fee.

I have just log into Verizon's web site trying to do a upgrade but it still state that I would not be able to do so till 6/19/07 @ 22 months.
Does this work only that I go into the Verizon store???

Question(s)-

1) Does this apply to $39.99 plans?

2) Does this apply if you're currently in a 2-yr plan, but are going to renew as a 1-yr? (I'm not interested in going NE2, I'd rather stick to 1-yr plans from here on out).

3) Is it nationwide? (I'm in California)

To anyone who's got the real-deal 411 on this, thanks in advance. 😎

1 Yes, its true for all plans, even 9.99 additional lines

2 yes

3 I believe so, I'm in the NE and its def here, several others have stated its in other areas

Don't give reps a hard time if the don't know about it, they really just dropped this on everyone last minute. There is usually a build up period where they give us advanced notice and update the system. It seems like Lowell McAdam just decided to snap his fingers and made this happen.

Thanks for the answers, they're much appreciated. 😎

And the upgrade is after 20 months on a 2-yr, and 10 months on a 1-yr, correct? If so, I'll be taking advantage soon.

This person is correct.

The only thing that has changed is:

1) 2yr Agreements can now be upgraded 123 days in advanced (formerly 62 days early)
2) For now, it has not been changed in system, so all upgrades are processed as "exceptions"

Things that have not changed:

1) Discount amounts
2) upgrade dates for 1yr agreements
3) System dates
4) Early upgrade program

According to a rep in Credit & Activations, the 21 month upgrades can be done only thrudirect fulfillment, ie. on the telephone. Indirects and directs cannot do them.

I generally don't post on phonescoop because of all the trolls. But to answer some questions.

The new program (updated upgrade policy) is from what ive been told is a direct result of our feedback (NPS) website. Verizonwirelesssurvey.com

Custmers can now upgrade PHONES at the twenty month mark instead of 22 months. This applies to al phones incuding seconday units.

This is from what I understand a direct/internet/telesales offer only currently.

Customers useing new every two will recieve the newer program discount. I.e. if your on a 39.99 and you want t use this program you will recieve 50$ off. The same applies to the 100$ credt for plans higher than 79.99$. However if your a existing 39.99 customer with the old 100$ credit and ...
